A Small Victory for Common Decency

Judge Roy Moore Suspended for Being an Asshole.

Thou shalt not defy thy federal court order.

It’s a wee bit early to gloat, though. The suspension is only temporary pending the outcome of the ethics complaint against him for being such a stupid piece of shit.

Hopefully the judicial court will do the right thing and remove this fundy bastard from the court.

Why is it always Alabama’s politicians who so doggedly stand in the way of moral progress?

He’s playing to the right fundementalists in Alabama in order to make a run for governor.

Here’s hoping the people of Alabama see through his game.

please insert wing in the place in my post where I left it out…

Well, it isn’t always Alabama’s politicians. Sometimes its Mississippi or Arkansas. Seriously, we Southerners don’t have a monopoly on blocking moral progress. Nixon was from California. Tweed was from New York. And the latest Congressman to ignore (alledgely) the speed limit, run a stop sign and kill someone on a motorcycle is from South Dakota.

I’m sure that there are hordes of Alabamians who wish this clown would turn in his honking nose.

The difference, of course, is that Congressman What’s-His-Name in South Dakota last week, Boss Tweed in New York in the 19th Century, and President Nixon in the early 1970s didn’t claim that their frauds, deceptions and illegalities had the approval and mandate of God Almighty (in the case of Justice Moore) or were in the righteous defense of the privileges and liberties of the great people of the sovereign state of Alabama (as was/is the case with both Justice Moore and Governor Wallace). Nixon and Tweed had the minimal decency to try to conceal their misdeeds. The South Dakota Congressman, to my knowledge has made no claim that he ran that stop sign because it was the manifest will of God and that to deny him that privilege was one more step along the path leading the republic to ruin and paganism.

Render unto Ceasar, and all that…

Eh, Zoe is right. My comment regarding Alabama was obnoxious, and I must apologize for it.

But I stand by my position on Texas!
