I once had a birthmark removed from my butt under local anesthetic. I didn’t get one of those pills you describe, but what I remember about the surgery was what you describe about feeling sensations of tugging and pulling, but no pain. It feels strange.

I recently had a seborrheic keratosis removed and it was a similar experience.

I also have a birthmark on my butt. When I was a teenager and saw a dermatologist who wanted to remove it (my mother has one, as does/did her brother, father and grandfather), my mother decided that was a good enough reason to never see that dermatologist again.

Regarding the device, I expect the privacy part to be because it could be worn underneath clothing.
