Not at all mundane, DEFINITELY not pointless … but I’m afraid I must share.
The little Babydistra has been going backwards and round-and-round for about a month now. And then, on Saturday, a Big Milestone was reached.
And this is what I’ve been singin’ to her ever since…
(with apologies to Little Eva)
I can see you doing a brand new move now
(Come on, baby, do the forward motion)
You’ve been trying hard, and you have really improved now
(Come on, baby, do the forward motion)
Do it nice and easy now, don’t lose control
Or else you’ll hit your head against that metal pole.
So come on, come on, do some forward motion for me.
You’ve gotta swing your hips round
Come on, baby
Head up, stong back
Well I think you’ve got the knack
Yeah, yeah
Now that you can do it well you really are crawling
(Come on, baby, do the forward motion)
Nothing on the floor is safe from chewing and mauling
(Come on, baby, do the forward motion)
Before we know it you’ll be up to two years or three
And you’ll be getting started on your ABC
So come on, come on, do some forward motion for me.
Come on, do the forward motion
Oh yeah, lots of forward motion
Oh no, too much forward motion
No wait! Stop that forward motion
…
[repeat until parent goes crazy]
