Does anyone know a song that may have been released back end of 2005 or early 2006? I can only remember a soft female voice sing something like ‘shiny people’ or ‘happy people’ (possibly lol) then she says ‘feels right’ I think. There’s a strange instrumental bit part-way through it that doesn’t last very long. The song was quite catchy. The female voice sounds a bit like the vocals on ‘In My Memory’ by DJ Tiesto. It’s driving me nuts not knowing!!!
Gotta be “Shiny Happy People” by REM I’d think.

Sorry Elfkin, but that wasn’t it either. The singer may not have said ‘happy’ or ‘shiny’ but she definitely said ‘people’. There is a whirly kind of instrumental bit that almost ruined the song, but i’m sure she says ‘feels right’ twice a few times - catchy tune i thought, slightly disco-ey, clublandish

Your appallment may be my fault, misquoting a song I can’t remember!
I just want to double check that you listened to the song Miss Vixen linked. Yes, it is REM, an all male band, but most of the song is sung by Kate Pierson from the B-52s who was collaborating with them.
If you did, in fact listen and rule it out, then just ignore me with my apologies.
thanks, kjc - my wording could have been better, but shiny happy people is fairly recognisable to most people and didn’t require me to listen to it, so i ruled it out in that way, unless there is another shiny happy people that is a softer, disco/clubland version lol

Hmmm, if you listen to In My Memory by DJ Tiesto, the singer Nicola Hitchcock has an almost identical vocal - may even be the same singer, but I can’t find the song!
There’s an Ernesto vs Bastian track called Shiny Appy People, but I don’t there are any actual lyrics.
