A Substitute fun MMP(now elbow free!)

It’s not cold, it’s muggy.
But I’ll take the sunshine.

**swampy **- hardly a mosh pit. :stuck_out_tongue: My sister got tickets for Paul Revere and the Raiders - talk about ancient history!! I think there are only 2 or 3 original members still performing, and Mark Lindsay is no longer part of the group. Honestly, I don’t know why I agreed to go - I never was a PR&R fan. At least she got tickets to the early show - at 6. With luck, I’ll be home in bed before 10! Oh yeah, I party hard!!!

Can have some of my sun, too! Though I do like it for the most part. It’s a big part of why Idaho winters are actually not that bad: it’s usually sunny, unless it’s snowing. And sometimes even then!

Right now the doors are wide open, it’s 72 inside but feels much chillier. Break-the-fast was some Dubliner cheese, which is quite yum. Even the dog thinks so.

Poke is marinatin’ for the posole; lemon juice, salt, sugar, black pepper. Then it shall be seared and left to simmer with the usual suspects of cumin, various dried peppers, enough garlic to wipe out the vampire population of China, some onion, bay leaf, and whatever else I feel like throwing in there. After simmering until I think it’s yummy enough, said poke shall be diced into chunks, then the posole-making begins! Which is simple: Return the poke to the pot, add hominy, more onion-cumin-garlic-peppers, and let it all mix up until I can’t wait anymore. Then it’s ladled into a bowl and topped with copious amounts of chopped green onion.

Can’t wait to make this for my dad  Not sure if he can EAT pork much anymore, but I hope he can at least give it a taste

lost track of time
off to walk hell pup
I hope I can find her old collar, the one that fits.
If she gets loose again and figures it out I may never catch her.

Looks like two, but there’s a hanging chad

How much you payin’? Though I draw the line at wearing the French maid outfit!

He is a he; therefore, he doesn’t get it.
Neither - give it to me :stuck_out_tongue:
Rode to work today, so no gasoline used; however, I did eat extra snack once at work. How does one calculate MPC - miles per cake???

I hope all y’all know that my nicknames for my babies are all said with affection.
I used to watch a ‘demon dog’, one day I slipped up and called her that in front of her owners. Seems it was their nickname for her as well. She earned it. I wonder if they still have a house?

No idea why, but our smoke-eater neighbors have been extra noisy today. Usually, when they go on a call, they pull out and get down the road a bit before hitting the siren, but today, they must have a new driver as it’s been “WHONNK! Rooooo!” before they even get to the road today.

Can someone save me from this webinar? I like continuing ed points, and I love free continuing ed points, but this has been a tedious way to earn four points.

Gas here is 3.33 at the cheap place on the corner, elsewhere I saw 3.46.

So does a hanging chad get in the way of spinning webs? Makes me think of those guys who wear gourds. You wonder how they go around without bumping into things.

Iphone4, but you have to pay for the 2 year contract.

Perhaps that is the idea.
“Sorry to bump into you, Baby, but my sheath is just so darn big it gets in the way!”

Home at last! What a crazy day!!

I’ve got a cake in the oven and a meatloaf in the toaster oven. I’ll make the sides later. Daughter apparently wants help carving a punkin tonight - sounds like a Daddy job to me.

In case you’re wondering, dessert will be yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. It will be yum because I make good cakes!

That’s all I can manage for now…

sahirrnee. No. & return it; I never drank the [del]kool-aid[/del] apple juice; I have android. :stuck_out_tongue:
Mooommm, tell Daaaddd to use the power pumpkin carver, aka jig saw. Seriously. It’s faster & better than those #$%&* plastic things that always seem to break.

I’ve been busy all day, but I’m not sure what I’ve been doing, mostly.

We did have to take my van to get fixed. Apparently, just like the body, the fender wells also rust and from what I hear a fender well is what supports the front struts or some other important thing. All I know is that today when driving over bumps I heard something bouncing around under there. I’d had some warning that it needed to be fixed but today was the day, I guess. I hope they can get to it quickly. They were overbooked and said if I could leave it that they’d try to work it in. If they can’t, it’s going to be two weeks of it sitting there and me driving something else.

Yeah I always pictured you more of a Monkees or Herman’s Hermits fan. :stuck_out_tongue:

Early dindin already et. Since it was leftovers it was all nuke and eat. Still mighty good beastloaf, cabbage and mac 'n cheese.

i want food, but all I have is cereal and canned veggies. Maybe some mac and spaghetti sauce, but that requires effort :frowning:

Cassandra Wilson has a cover of “Last Train to Clarksville”.

I lived in Clarksville and graduated high school there!

As a matter of fact, I’ve seen both in concert - the Monkees minus Mike in the 90s, and Herman’s Hermits in the late 60s/early 70s when they were still hot! I could never afford Beatles’ tickets, didn’t care for the Stones, loved Simon and Garfunkel, but never saw them either. I did see Harry Chapin when he came to Purdue - I ushed his concert. All in all, my taste in music is pretty benign.

Our meatloaf and cabbage was good, the instant N.O.T.s were meh. **FCD **and daughter are in the basement changing a large pumpkin into a Mad Scientist, which was the winning suggestion from her class. Tomorrow is the Fall Festival at her school and she’s pissed because she’s required to stay till 8, which means, with luck, she’ll get home by 10. Gonna be a long-ass day!

The cake is frosted and awaiting consumption. It fell pretty fast when it came out of the oven. Oh well… It’ll still taste good.

FCM, it’s called ‘brownies’ when it falls like that! Even if it’s vanilla.

Apes - Did you forget that every pregnant woman automatically gains an extra household cooking item? It’s called Dah Husband! Send him out for whoppers

I’d share my posole if you were close enough

and holy cow now I really want something sweet. Damnit! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s only seven p.m. and I feel so sleepy. Can’t start yawnin’.

I’ve been trying to go back to bed since I got up at 5, lol.

GO TO BED, SWAMPY! Sleep for both of us

For some reason, vanilla yogurt with chocolate syrup and whipped cream sounded good. I am beginning to suspect I do have female hormones that do kick in at certain times. I spent the first 30 years of my womanhood not having to worry about that kind of crap; why now?! Urghblurf.
