A Survey of the Big Threads

Here’s a challenge for you. Please observe these rules:

  1. Click on “Search” and “Advanced Search”
  2. Under “Search by User Name” enter your own User Name
  3. Be sure the setting is for “Find Posts By User”
  4. Under “Search Options” set things for:
-4a) “Find Threads with At Least 0 Replies”
-4b) “Find Posts from Any Date and Newer”
-4c) “Sort Results by Number of Replies in Descending Order”
    -4d) “Show Results as Threads”
  5. Under “Search in Forum(s)” select “Search All Open Forums”
  6. Click on “Search Now”
  7. Locate the highest number of replies for an OPEN (not Locked) thread
  8. If that thread has a higher number of replies than the number of replies for any thread already posted in this current thread, identify the thread from your search list and provide a link to it.

Out of the 1292 posts in that thread Zeldar contributed 93 posts.

That’s the biggest living thread that I have participated in. Can you top that?

The idea for this current thread is to locate the thread that has the highest number of posts/replies that was contributed to by an active Doper. There may be bigger threads that have all their participants no longer active. But it’s the ACTIVE THREADS by Active Dopers that we need to account for.

How many posts will it take to locate that thread?

I don’t get it. Does how many times you contributed matter, or just that you are active and the thread is not locked? Everyone in your linked thread has to still be active? Sorry I am dense. :smack:

Ok, I will give this a shot.

Out of the 3,947 posts in this thread NAF1138 (me!) contributed 266.

Considering the fact that searches lock up the board, preventing anyone from doing anything while the search is in progress, this is a very bad idea.
