Who is the biggest threadkiller on the SDMB?

The search function doesn’t seem designed for this, so m curious-

What non-mod poster is at the end of the most old, like a year or more since a reply, threads? Who is the biggest threadslayer on the SDMB?

Most likely many hundreds of threads. Probably well over a thousand.

Those threads still exist in an [del]alternate dimension[/del] inaccessible forum but I was still the last poster.

Moved to ATMB.

I sometimes wonder if you have the word “reported” hotkeyed on your keyboard somewhere. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know an easy way to find the answer for the OP.

Yes, it’s difficult to beat running coach in spam reporting, fer instance. Most threads just seem to peter out and trail off. Don’t think, on this MB, any post would be _ enough (fill in the blank) to cause enough _ (fill in the blank) that no one posts in it anymore, Tuxie.

There have been a few or more threads by posters proclaiming themselves as “champeen thread slayer”, but those posters were usually disabused of their pretensions - most often by other posters making the same claim.

I seem to be quite good at killing my own threads with my OP.

Darn it, Quartz, can’t you read between the lines?

<Thumb twiddling>

We actually had a thread about this some 5-10 years ago. I don’t remember who started it. Zeldar might actually have done this at some point.

I think I was proclaimed the winner. I answered many a thread in GQ with the correct answer and there were no more posts. I hope I’m not misremembering. Of course, this was some time ago.

But you are a moderator! No fair!

OK, how about this, then? Who had stated the most threads that got zero replies? Also not searchable, but probably easier to narrow down.

I understand, but all of my posts were as a member.

Meh. If the only responders are thread killers, I think it still counts. You’re just shooting an already dead corpse.

A while ago I would have said I was the thread killer–in that I would be late to the thread and the conversation was already over. Got semi-pitted for it (not a whole thread) having my name as last poser on like 8 thread in ATMB.

If you had just added a Big T in the right place, maybe it would have gone differently. :stuck_out_tongue:

Last!

Bugger! I really had a hankerin’ to be last in this thread, especially.

Reported!

**Announcing the December 2014, GQ threadkiller awards! **

Threads that ended in December 2014 (as of 30 minutes ago, a deadline set by our distinguished panel of judges) were pasted into Excel and sorted by threadkiller. Numbers were totaled for selected posters depending upon perceived threadkilling volume and the whim of the data analyst.

In reverse order:

samclem brings up the rear with 2 entries (pffft! snort!). A tragedy for a once fine competitor.

Robert columbia, Really Not All That Bright, Pauly01, Johnney L.A. and Colibri each killed a respectable 5 threads. GQ moderator engineer comp geek and usedtobe tied for 7. Chronos and johnpost each killed 8. Isilder tallied up an impressive 9. LSLGuy and Reply annihilated 10 threads.

But the champion GQ threadkiller of December 2014 was… md2000, who capped a total of 13 threads.

Let’s give all our contestants a round of applause.

>golf clap<

I surely do wish I could remember such an exercise, but I probably have a few similar things that might be confused with locating threadkillers. The one that sprang to mind was a 3-way fun thing with Chez Guevara and NineToTheSky that got closed due to excessive silliness. We were trying to find the threads that had the most Views but with 0 Replies. Could that be what you were thinking of, samclem?

If not, is there something else noteworthy about that thread? I’ll help hunt for it.
