It’s noy that difficult people. Off the top of my head, I can think of two posters who have had sexual relationships with more than one other doper. I won’t name names, but none of these relationships were secret.
Even better, if you can manage to meet another Doper in person, you apparently have about a 30% chance of having sex with a Doper!
Hey Opal? Here’s a lark - how about trying something new? Like responding to people in your own thread that you started, or thanking them for taking your survey, or at least acknowledging their presence? Or even responding to people who were not part of your “old guard”?

And i’m sorry I haven’t responded yet, I’ve been almost completely bedridden for a week with a severe case of the flu. The other night we had to take Nicky to the emergency room when his fever hit 105. My whole family is very sick and most of the time my brain has only been half-working because of all the cold medicine I’ve been on.
I’ve been much less active on the boards while I’ve been sick…
but it’s nice to know that you read so much into my absence. :rolleyes:
Anyway, thanks for taking my survey. I’d have liked to come back when I was feeling better and in a better mood, but it seems that some people don’t allow that.
I just realized something.
Even if I wasn’t sick, I still wouldn’t have been posting to this thread yet. I’m supposed to be in Florida, visiting my dad. In fact, today I’m supposed to be at Epcot! But I had to postpone our trip because we’re all sick. So I assume I’d have been reamed out no matter what. Nice to know.
Gah. I just woke up, but I think I should go back to bed.
Opal, hubby and I spent the day at Epcot on the 6th and the next week we both GOT sick. I’m still sick. Sorry you’re not feeling well. Hope yours doesn’t hang around as long as what everyone down here seems to be getting…we’re talking about people with lingering cough and congestion a MONTH after first getting sick!

No, Opal, it just seems that a lot of people do get ignored by you, when they answer questions you ask, take your surveys or visit your sites, and…well, it just seems like you should be a little more open and appreciative of people in general. Not just in this case, but many others too. There are a lot of good people here, you know. I know this may not be the “good old days”, but the good old days weren’t always that good now, were they?

Um. Ok. I really don’t know what you mean, but ok. I don’t have an “old guard” and I don’t only talk to people from “way back when” etc. Fact is, I suck with names. Bad. I don’t remember people by names, I remember them by faces. On a message board, this means that until I know you WELL, you’re fairly nameless to me. Doesn’t mean I don’t like you or whatever, it just means that I probably don’t remember if/when/what about we’ve talked before. I know it sounds horrible. You should see my desk. I take little notes to remind me who people are. I have little things scribbled on the backs of envelopes, junk mail, post it notes, etc with screennames/handles and little memory joggers. I really can’t help it.
Opal has been around a long time, Anthracite, most posters know her style. Lots of people can’t get back to threads as fast as they would like, they have other issues in life to deal with besides posting on a message board. I don’t think that Opal looks at how long someone has been on either board, like most of us don’t. Sometimes it’s just easy to get spread thin. I can’t really remember any time that Opal hasn’t gotten back to someone eventually. Patience is a virtue.
I met SanibelMan, Anniz, Montfort, and UncleBill this weekend at the Fort Lauderdale dopefest. I also go to school daily with ssskuggiii, DigitalMuse, PurePhreak, and Zero Hero.

Welp, I have met, but not passionately kissed or slept with, several folks. I’ve passionately kissed AND slept with my husband, who has posted here,but I don’t think that counts since it happened before either of us were Dopers. Several hundred times.
I can think of a couple of people who have hooked up in theory, but since I wasn’t there for the actual DEED I refuse to confirm or deny any suppositions.
Now, if we were supposed to respond with whether or not we’d WANTED to meet/suck face with/have carnal knowledge of folks…well, I might have to plead the Fifth. More than once.
But the question is, how many of them did you sleep with?
