Probably will never happen, but just for the sake of discussion, what if Julian and Sean Lennon, James Louis McCartney, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey are holed up somewhere in England writing and making music together?
Do you think it could work?
Also, let’s not forget the daughters, Mary and Stella.
Am I full of it? More than likely, but I’d still like to see it happen.
Q
Nature versus nurture in practice.
Sean Lennon and Julian Lennon have both released decent or semi-decent pop records so I’d say a collaboration would be worthwhile if not in a ‘New Beatles’ way.
Also, Zak Starkey has played on tour with his father, Ringo Starr, and been offered permanent membership in both The Who (he declined) and in Oasis (he had a falling out with Noel Gallagher). Another Beatles offspring who is also an accomplished musician in his own right.
First order of business: 3 AM prank phone calls to Pete Best’s kids.
Okay to do a ROTFLMFAO@** Terrifel**?
Oh my God, THAT was funny!!!
But we have to wait for Stu Sutcliffe’s kids to die first, don’t we?
I saw Zak this last weekend with his buddies Pete and Roger. He is one KICK ASS drummer. The other Fantasy Beatles would have a hard time keeping up with him!
Before this whole thing gets too out of hand…
I thnk what we have to remember is that it was all “Kismet” for John, Paul, George and Ringo.
By that I mean the time was “right” for them (The Beatles) to “happen”, and it is really unfair of me to assign the same set of circumstances and expect the same talents to have been passed on by the four fathers to the children.
They are not, after all, clones for crying out loud!
I am afraid that the OP was just an old man wishing to recreate his youth.
A pipe dream.
Nothing more, nothing less.
But thanks for playing along. It was fun to think the kids would get together.
Exactly. They’d probably do well performing their fathers’ music, but I can’t see them doing anything original. JL, PMc and GH came of age together, and RS was a contemporary. They meshed. But their offspring were not raised together (I’m not even sure all of them have met all the others), and there’s little chance they could collaborate.
(I thought Ringo has three kids?)
He does, but I would hazard a guess that Zak is the only (other) professional musician in the family.
