A theory based on the Heroes graphic novels [possible spoilers]

I know that many fans of the Heroes TV show do not read the comicbook side stories offered at the www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels site, but some of us do. The latest installment gave us a major fact that has not yet appeared on the show. I have a theory…

[space to avoid mouseover spoilage]

My thought is that Linderman’s healing power alters the DNA of it’s subject, making it likely or even certain that their children will have powers. This would explain the coincidence that one of the only known beneficiaries of that power happened to have 2 sons with powers. It would also explain Linderman’s position at the center of the relationship web the supers all exist within. He could, after his Army time, have realized this side effect and set about intentionally creating young powered people (maybe being involved in this is the proposal he’s making to Petrelli?). He might be the Patient Zero that Papa Suresh thought Sylar was.

Of course, this show thrives on coincidences, so having his Army ‘buddy’ spawn two supers doesn’t have to be cause and effect. I actually have little confidence in this theory being right. But I just wanted to get it written down so I can say I was the first to bring it up if it comes true.
