A thread for Gulftiger to discuss politics

Your posts on this board show otherwise.

Sucks to stumble into a Pit thread that ISN’T about you and somehow pivot it to being ALL about you. OP (Original Pittee) can’t get a word in edgewise now.

About those professional auditors… maybe next time don’t use Arizona as your example. It’s reasonable for a low info voter to be confused about Arizona specifically because the high profile auditors of Maricopa County (>50% of state pop) majorly screwed up their PR game, if not their actual report.

I don’t understand this. The “original pittee”, as @wguy123 called him, has made it abundantly clear he’s not debating or discussing politics other than to troll. What’s the purpose of giving him a dedicated thread for him to troll in?

I ask this in The BBQ Pit because I’m calling another poster a troll, which is not peritted in ATMB.

Mods carved this thread out of another thread before the cancer spread to the vital organs.

True. Also true is that THEY’RE NOT CONSERVATIVE!

In the interest of not derailing the trolls thread, I suggested there that if the Gulf Tiger Shrimp’s views were sincere, and if he relied on sarcasm as a debating tactic, then he was free to start a Pit thread about his love of Trump or whatever the fuck else he wanted to rant about. One of the mods created this thread to avoid once again hijacking the “Trolls” thread. It remains to be seen whether the subject of this thread has any interest in trying to support his views.

There is post #71. Though as you say it remains to be seen whether they’ll return and if so what they’ll say.

@GulfTiger, that post seems pretty convincing. Can you ignore the sideswipes, accusations, and other dumb asides that some posters are doing and focus on the election for a few posts? Nothing in that post is secret – you can look it all up.

After doing that, are you still unsure about the last election?

Any true MAGAt would say that info comes from CNN, which is all lies because because it reports news they don’t like.

Well, maybe @GulfTiger can speak for himself.

The evidence at hand thus far (his parrotting certain talking points) is that he cannot.

I always liked this one, too:

Ken Block, whom the Trump campaign hired in 2020 to find voter fraud in the election, penned an op-ed Tuesday stating unequivocally that the 2020 presidential election was not stolen and that there was no evidence of voter fraud sufficient to change the outcome of the election.

Block, who owns Simpatico Software Systems, said his company’s findings were communicated directly to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and transcripts of depositions taken by the Jan. 6 select committee investigating the attack on the Capitol “show that the campaign found no evidence of voter fraud sufficient to change the outcome of any election.”

“What these claims don’t take into account is that voter fraud is detectable, quantifiable and verifiable. I have yet to see anyone offer up ‘evidence’ of voter fraud from the 2020 election that provides these three things,” he added.

Interesting. I keep reading it as Gullfinger alongside a 007 film theme song looping in my head.

Gulllll-FINGAH!

But mostly I posted to say, I have always read Wookinpanub as Wookie In A Pub. It’s like you almost don’t have a choice—as if it was some optical illusion specially devised and laboratory tested to make us read it as something else.

I lways figured it was from Eddie Murphy, as Buckwheat, on Saturday Night Live.

I think you’re right. It’s Buckwheat speak for “Looking For Love”.

And I first realized that when this same subject came up 4 or 9 years ago and I looked closer at the actual username.

Nonetheless, even after that I still read it as Wookie in a Pub. It’s the damnedest thing.

ETA: and on top of that, they had/have a avatar of Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat on SNL.

A screenshot from the classic SNL skit:

My favorite from that bit was, “Unce, tice, fee tines a mady.”

Eddie was great.

At this point, it doesn’t seem that he wants to do so. Can’t say that I blame him. Most MAGAts either avoid expressing their views and just furtively slither to the polls on election day, or else they start talking to reporters and run away after making asses of themselves.

Yeah, disappointing, really. I guess when presented with real evidence, rather than the propaganda of his usual “news” sources (literal Russian propaganda, quite often), he couldn’t face that he had been duped all this time.

It’s difficult and painful to accept that you’ve been conned, and basically all Trump supporters have been living in that state for years now.
