Also, he’s got yet another contempt hearing coming up in Washington on Friday. It’s going well, I see.
Impeachment is a legal term for challenging the credibility of a witness.
He’s afraid that what’s he said in these proceedings could be used to challenge his credibility in other (civil) proceedings. Fifth Amendment doesn’t apply in civil matters.

Not “impeach” as in “remove from government office”.
It’s “impeach” as in “impeach the witness” as in cause jurors to believe the witness’s testimony is untrustworthy because you introduce evidence they’ve told very different tales under oath before. IOW: “Mr. Giuliani, were you lying then or are you lying now?”. Not a question anyone testifying, but especially a defendant, wants to be asked.
Of course when all the testimony he’s ever given is just a convenient spur of the moment lie, then every bit of testimony can be viewed as dangerous to not only this trial, but any other.
Maybe this Friday they can set up some sort of “oops - lied!” buzz-thingy in the courtroom.

Sounds like the fix is in. Someone bailed him out, with enough money to keep the defamed happy (although certainly a tiny fraction of what is owed). Sadly, spoiled for choice on that front.
And, in addition to the existing, closed, and paused Trump suits, it pretty much puts paid to the USA as a nation of laws. Because you can just keep NOT complying forever, be held in contempt, and still nothing happens, while those seeking justice are targeted by violence, threats, and exhaustion of trying to actually get the courts to move forward in the face of smirking non-compliance.
Bad times.
Makes me wonder that if the next step (on either side of the political divide mind you) is going to be similar to our UHC murderer, albeit with more cause.
