Watching the cricket test and the yacht race, eating leftovers from yesterday and listening to the kids squabble over the new toys.
I’d lay odds there were thousands doin’ that over here in Enzed too, mate.
Yair. This is the first Boxing Day I haven’t had to work in fifteen years, and I’m rediscovering how much I love it.
I woke up, stayed in bed and read for ages, got up and checked my email, put the cricket on, when the Sydney-Hobart started, I’d channel surf between overs to watch a bit of the yacht race, then a dreamy heat-haze wander down to the station, got the train three stips to my local club, had a couple of cold beers, came home.
Boxing Day rules. Much better than the boring social obligations of Christmas Day.
Lucky bastards, I’ve just come back from work, and I worked yesterday!
Perhaps you can spend your next day off counting all of the extra money that you earnt.
Well, that would be nice, if I earned any extra money! Unfortunately I just get a flat salary. The upside is that I probably only work 3-4 days per week, but they can be any ol’ day, weekend, public holiday, etc.
