A Very Grumpy MMP

Blurf. My concert was cancelled and since I won the tickets I was not notified until we arrived at a dark theater. I have been in touch with the theater and was given three other concerts to choose from. I chose the Nighthawks in ten days. It is jazz and blues. We did have a fabulous meal and drinks with my staff and spouses.

Today I am cooking collards, roasted chicken, corn on the cob and other stuff. I know Swampy, Peaches and Red will agree that washing and tearing collards is a job. But it is done. I also need to do some ironing.

New engineer checked in this morning - new to this office, but not to the company. He’d been working on base and now he’s part of our happy little group. I found out TPTB have no intention of replacing the boss. They’re hoping we can manage without adult supervision. I’m far enough down the food chain that it really doesn’t affect me - I’ve been getting work from the others, so it’s working out fine. But no boss? We shall see.

The software has been crazy slow for me today - or maybe it’s my computer. I don’t know. I just know that I sit for minutes at a time waiting for a file to open or to go from one page of a drawing to another. BORING!!! It’s especially frustrating when it’s something that I should be able to get done quickly, but I have to wait for the lazy electrons to move about.

It all pays the same…

Da cave has been somewhat defilthyfied. I vacuumed and dusted. I should clean the kitchen and bathrooms. That may or may not happen today. We will have trash pick up today bein’ as Columbus Day is not a local holiday. I say we will. The trash pick up truck is three houses away from da cave but appears to have broken down. We shall see.

rockin’ read, watch movies, peruse teh intartoobz, nap. The possibilities are endless. Of course all that will be on your mind is things you want to do but can’t. This will mean that every single one of those things are priorities that cannot wait. It’s always that way. Glad you’re not in so much pain and here’s to a fast healin’.

rockin’, when I’m home on medical leave, I tend to alternate studio time with naps, surfing the net and watching movies or TV. I’m glad that you’re getting around better.

I’m in one of the hurry up times of the month today. Last Monday, I spent most of the day drafting a document for a volunteer job for lack of anything better to do and today, my plate is full.

Happy Monday!

I’m having a weird day. I seem to be intermittently full of rage for no good reason whatsoever. It’s mildly entertaining, but kind of ruining my day at the same time.

I just made up a ham pot pie for dindin. Had some already cooked and chunked up ham in da freezer so I took said ham out last night to thaw. I shall place it in the oven shortly to cook as it does take a little while to cook and I prefer a pot pie to cool down a bit before diggin’ in to one. Plus it made a smaller one which shall go in da freezer sans toppin’ for later use.

Drae sometimes one just needs a good rage.

Power! Running water! Flush toilets! Woohoo!

If you’ll excuse me for a moment, I need to find the nearest line crew and offer them cookies or booze or a pint of blood or something!

{{{Rosie}}} I am so, so, so sorry. Disability really and truly sucks. Random thought, which your attorney may know the answer to, are there any local grants available that might allow to you stay where you are? Are there any other grants from the state, if you do any inter webs searching for grants/disability?

Agreed. Go. Have fun.

Only if there’s something you don’t like about it, and there’s a sale at Sears. Otherwise, carry on, carry on.

Are they insane? Not that you aren’t all adults, but I’ve been in this situation. It led to months, or even years of work in the wrong direction because entire divisions were unsupervised while the company tried to “figure things out”. Somebody’s got to be the “buck stops here” person, or there’s no accountability, no one who can make decisions about priorities, etc, etc. :smack:

True.

I finally caught the plague from my husband and the boy. I am not happy. My husband would go around talking in a bass voice like a movie announcer. He thought it was cool. I think I sound like I swallowed rocks. My throat hurts. My head hurts. I, just, grr. On the other hand, the cats have arrived to do their duty as furry little comforters, so there’s that. The reason we keep cats. They sit on or near you and offer comfort. I’ve gotten a “mrrp” but no full throat “purr” yet.

On the plus side, the deer [del]hunters[/del] poachers are not in the wildlife preserve today, which makes things considerably make relaxing. On the downside of that, I think they chased off the entire flock of Canadian geese that was wintering there.

**Sunny **- the VP for Engineering is just upstairs from us and he will do what he can, but he wants the senior engineers (*none *have 10 years of experience) to manage projects on a day-to-day basis. I have my doubts, but I’m just a drafter. I’m so glad I didn’t apply to be an engineer.

Home. I got rid of all the stuff at the thrift store, smashing my thumb and breaking the nail in the process. We’ve got sushi for supper, which we’ll eat shortly. Other than that, nothing exciting here. **FCD **plans to be on the road by 4:30 tomorrow - he wants to get around the DC beltway before rush hour. And I’ll be without adult supervision at home till Weds evening.

Glad we put the trash out, it was picked up today. I knew I heard trash trucks this morning.
The online calendar is wrong.

I had beef and broccoli for lunch, I’m stuffed. I should know better but I start eating and don’t stop until it’s gone.

I have a mild case of the grumpies today.

Dindin has been ingested. A really good ham pot pie with enough for leftovers tomorrow night, so yay! Yeah, yeah, I’m home all day so I could make a nice home cooked meal every night but I choose not to do so. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Peaches yay for back to civilized livin’!

One day down, thirteen to go. I called the surgeon’s office to see about a handicapped parking tag and a prescription for a knee scooter.

I haven’t taken anything for pain since this morning. My ankle is a little achy, mostly because I can’t move it, and the incisions itch like hell, but other than that, not much discomfort to speak of.

Airman and the sprog are out getting something for dinner, but I have no idea what. I think I’m going to go with them tomorrow to get better food that I can carry one-handed.

My collards were so good if I do say so myself as was the roasted chicken, baked apples, corn on the cob and boiled okra. I did good.

I already dread irk tomorrow as short weeks tend to be longer than regular weeks IMO. FALL fest on Thursday.

Tahred.

Rockin’ Scooter on Amazon. This isn’t exactly the one I went with. I went with one that folded. It was cheaper. It also had a basket. The basket is really, really helpful, since you can’t carry anything. I also wanted one with 2 brakes. When I was done with it, I donated it to someone in need, but you could easily re-sell. On the folding bit, I don’t think I ever used it. Amazon will not ask for you doctor’s prescription either…

I’m merely showing you where to look, because the rates you quoted will let you own one of these beauties for your very own.

Peaches, glad to hear that power is back on; I lost it during the Tornado of 2011 for almost a week.

Sunny, while the guy was installing my new dishwasher, I took the time to clean my dryer, and it looks so much better now that I see no need to get a new one, as long as it keeps working. Now all I need to do is dirty some dishes, so I can try out the new dishwasher…

Otherwise a blurfy Moanday. Napped and tried to re-schedule a soccer game only to be shot down by the field scheduling Gods. Oh well.

Still no power at work. Still not sure when I get a day off this week.:dubious: But there is chipolte BBQ chicken in the oven, and Yuengling Oktoberest in my mug. Also, roomie got a new kitty. This is Alex…

Glad the foot is doing OK, Rockin’.

Peaches ,sorry about the plague.

I hate to tell you, but this is about double the rule of thumb for housing expense ratio.

Well water on an electric pump?

I have no idea what to give Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) for our anniversary.
When asked, she replied, “Five more years!”

Shut up, Dogbutt.
Shut up, Spiderbutt.

Rosie, Mom, other normal people, what shall I give her?

Hugs for Rosie!!!
For what its worth our prayers and best vibes are going for you; that is a heck of a situation to deal with on top of everything else.

Other than that I’ll read and catch up everyone else later.

Flytrap - what does she like? Gardening, travel, cooking, photography?
