The impression is from watching the show from the begninning - the first season was, shall we say - “tight” - it was well plotted, well scripted - the pacing was good - etc -
since then, they ‘drag out’ the stories to fill time, etc - the ‘soap opera’ affect as another poster noted - its clear they don’t have an endgame, and ‘because’ its so poular, they are now afraid to mess with TWD formula - so- in a spinnoff, they can.
Speaking of slow-moving, expressionless horrors, the show could easily be called “The Killing - Season 3”.
Only if the show is a massive and overshadowing hit. If it fails or is seen only as an auxiliary show–they just gave the entire cast of the original an even better bargaining position.
I’m pretty excited as long as they do something interesting. I don’t really want to follow just another band of survivors.

Isn’t it based on a comic book? Are they not following the books, or is the problem that they are, and the books are crappy?
