A Whales Vagina

Title: A Whales Vagina

I have to say it: Doesn’t this thread belong in the Pit?

thank you! sheesh… now, has anyone an actual answer to the question?

i never knew any of this stuff about platypusses. why didn’t i know this stuff?

i figure the platypus is either a testament to the existence of a god or a condemnation of him.

is it so fucked up that something had to create it, or is it an example of evolution spun horribly out of control? you make the call.

Really? Wow. I had no idea. Who, though? And where?

…Come to think of it, I forgot exactly what you said.

I believe it has to do with Australia being so large and yet isolated.

Of course, it may be because it’s all upside down there.

australia is just fucked up. it’s like a freak show continent.

they probably have mermaids and the batboy down there somewhere.

Also, apparently, monotremes are the only mammalian order whose mammary glands evolved from sweat glands. In all the other mammals, the mammary glands evolved from sebaceous (skin-oil-producing) glands.

That, plust the whole cloaca and laying-eggs thing, makes me wonder if monotremes should be classified as mammals at all.

I thought they played cricket like the British.

They have hair and nurse their young. That is, if they like them.

They’re poisonous too.

[nitpick]
No, they’re venomous.[/nitpick]

Check post #2.

In Russia, the whale’s vagina absorbs YOU!

Chris Griffin: “Dad, what’s a whale’s blowhole for?”

Peter Griffin: “I’ll tell you what it’s NOT for, and when I do, you’ll understand why I can never go back to Sea World Again.”

Oh, yeah, monotremes nurse their young all right – with commie mutant evolved-from-sweat-glands milk-producing glands from Mars!!!

I call parallel evolution on the nurse-their-young thing.

The only thing left that makes them like the other mammals is the hair. And is it really hair, or is it like that fuzzy stuff that tarantulas have or something?

Well, at least he didn’t title it, “I’m going to punch you in the ovaries.”

I worry why Aphyosemion australe can interbreed with Fundulopanchax gardneri gardneri, but Aphyosemion females will refuse a Fp male if males of their own species are present.

And if you’re going to worry about hair, worry about what happened to William Shatner’s.

Years ago, I told a gardener I was working with about the platypus. Eggs, fur, duckbill, poisonous spurs on the feet…he’s from Tennessee apparently, and he scoffed–‘there ain’t no such animal.’

Hmmm, off to google it is.

[QUOTE=Zsofia]

Yeah, but who’s gonne eat a dozen raw platypi to be sure?
