Back in the day (especially, but also today) it was considered very sexy for a woman to have a prominent mole on her face. I’ve never understood this and I always consider a mole to be a huge negative*
I also suspect I am in the vast minority, so I am wondering if there are any others who might like to join my club.
To play fair, you are choosing women that are generally considered quite attractive/beautiful. I have two non-pigmented moles on my face that I hate, and am looking forward to getting those suckers razored off soon.
But no one else ever seems to notice them, or, worse, they think they are cute. Weirdos.
I always look at women like that and think, “Imagine how beautiful you would have been if you had had that mole removed.”
As a woman who has a mole on her fav, I think moles are ugly. I could never understand the appeal, either. And, no mom, calling it a “beauty mark” doesn’t make it better.
“Beauty spots” are a contradiction in terms. They definitely detract from looks.
I can understand regular folk (male or female) not caring or not able to get them removed, but actors and models? Their looks are part of their job. They have the money, etc. Just get rid of the ugly things.
If a role requires one, then a fake one works just as well.
As recently as the 1940s, women would apply a fake mole to their face, as a “beauty spot”. A lot of pre-1940s things quickly went out of fashion, and now seem unimaginable to us. My mother would even wear a veil, if really dressing to the nines.
Numbers 1 and 2 have no impact whatsoever on my perception of them as attractive or not. I would probably see the mole but it is so trifling with respect to the rest of their face that it becomes a zero.
By my standards, the mole on number 3 is a visual distraction. The woman is pretty but if the mole were removed she might enter a more attractive category.
Should the woman in #3 remove the mole? I would never offer an opinion unless she was a close friend. If so, I would recommend removal.
I have had many actinic keratosis blemishes (those brown spots that develop as you get older) removed from my face, scalp and other sun-exposed areas. About ten years ago I intereacted with a young woman who for many years had a prominent 5 mm round mole on her cheek. You could not look at her without seeing this blemish. She had it removed at some point. I barely recognized her after her procedure. It made a world of difference. I apologize for being sexist, but removing that blemish made her beautiful. It’s one of the reasons I started having my keratosis spots removed.
To me, there’s a sweet spot between “Sloth from the Goonies” asymmetry and “creepy photoshopped face” symmetry. Cindy Crawford’s mole, for instance, gives her features some personality, and adds to her beauty, for me.
Moles I can take or leave. I like birthmarks in general for their distinction. Number 3 in the OP is more than I usually prefer, but the other two are cute.
