AA, KK Why Have Thou Forsaken Me???

The last 8 times I’ve gotten pocket Aces or Pocket Kings I have fucking lost!!! It’s cost me over one-goddamn-hundred-fucking dollars.

What he fuck!?!?!?!?!

sux.

I just won $800 on AA. 3 hands all in.

Ouch!

Earlier today I won hands with AA and QQ – and watched KK get beat by Q10 (not suited).

I’m still on a little high, so I’ll brag a bit: I finished 3rd of 11 players, and walked away with $45 … not bad for a $20 buy-in.

I feel your pain. I had my Aces cracked eight times in a row a few months back. Three times in a row by pocket sevens, the rest of the time by such stellar holdings as T6os. I only wish it would have cost me just $100.

I had A A.

Flop comes down A 9 9.

Nothing dangerous on turn or river.

He had 9 9.

And here I thought I was going to read a rant on drunk klansmen.

Stuck on your sudoku, eh?

I feel for you.

I had trip K’s (pocket pair and one on the flop.) I was betting high, but another guy kept matching me, so I figured he probably had pocket K as well, and since a couple of people stayed in for the turn, I would get a bit of money.

Well, he keeps matching my bets (and actually raised on the turn.) River gets turned, I still ahve just a K, but no pairs on the table, so he has no chance for a full house, so that’s a plus. We show our cards…he has a straight. A straight that he only got with the river! Douchebag! You do NOT stay in for a fucking straight draw when I am betting like I was! Especially since you almost went all in. Yes, it paid off for him in the end, but that is NOT a good strategy. Argh! Because of him I lost the tourny (I did end up placing ahead of him, though. but only got fourth. Top three places took home money.)

If you limped in with it, you may have deserved it. Raise big, and knock out those with the weaker cards. If you don’t, the weaker cards can dominate quickly if you just call the blind, and don’t raise pre-flop. But sometimes you’ll get out-beat by a calling station looking for a card on the river with pocket 2’s or some crap like that. Don’t give limpers a chance, if you have hands like TT and up, raise big pre-flop, and don’t let Mr suited connector 7 8 get a chance to see the flop. If a guy like this calls you, he’s just a maniac. Don’t take it too hard if he beats you.

Top this KcKs, I raise a decent amount, enough to get a call. Flop comes KdJdKh, he raises, I push all in. He calls, turn is a rag. River is 10d. He shows Ad, Qd for a royal flush.

Oh believe me, I lost in every conceivable way. Limping, re-raising, checking the turn, etc.

BTW, right after I posted this I won with KK. Go figure.

Man, if you were playing at the right place, that would trigger so many bonuses it’d be amazing. The royal flush bonus and the bad beat bonus.

You play with a deck that has five kings in it?

And jeez, having a set beat by a straight draw is a lousy bad beat story. Happens all the time!

I got beat once when I flopped quad queens (I had a pair of queens before the flop, and two on the flop). This was a wild 15-30 limit game (live). I got into a raising war with a maniac who backed into a runner-runner gutshot straight flush to take the $1100 pot. He said he was ‘trying to push me off the pot’. And this was at a private club where there was no bad-beat jackpot.

That’s what I thought too, but I decided he meant that he put the other guy on having the case King.

Not an uncommon beat, but one that made me sick because I saw it coming with perfect clarity. Limit game, I called from the button with QTos. Flop comes AKJ for the nut straight. As soon as it hit I knew as sure as I knew my own name that 4th and 5th streets were going to be an A and a K and the guy playing the naked A was going to suck out with a full house, and that’s exactly what happened.

My head hurts.

A) This might as well be in a different language for all I understand this thread.

B) You’re all making me really glad in all my gamer addiction I’ve never tried to play poker online.

I won’t touch online poker: I only play in real life, for just $20, and just once a week (so far). I’ve been invited to a couple of $100 tournaments, but have turned them down because I wouldn’t be comfortable playing for any more than $50 these days. I’ve been playing for 5 months, and am still not good enough (yet) to play anywhere else, but I’m definitely hooked on the game!

Got the hand histories to show us so we can figure out if you’re a dipshit or not?
