21 of the 23 plaintiffs voted unanimously in favor of a plan to methodically liquidate all of Jones’ assets in Chapter 11 bankruptcy (two ballots did not get returned). This as opposed to Jones’ lawyers offer of $5.5M/yr. The liquidation plan does not retire the judgement but allows the plaintiffs to keep after hiw.
I hope they hound him to his grave. He deserves every second of it. The fact is, with enablers like musk out there, he’s going to keep doing his sick/evil routine. I don’t want him to get too comfortable. Not in living or financially. I want him sweating and looking over his shoulder, and counting pennies forever.
Ultimately, the judge ordered the company bankruptcy dismissed, clearly emotional at the prospect of Jones’s rants possibly causing the families more pain, especially so close to fathers’ Day, the judge noted. His decision allows FSS and Infowars to carry on for now, but they will be somewhat controlled by the trustee in Jones’s personal bankruptcy case; Since Jones owns FSS, his ownership share will eventually be sold off along with his other assets.
Chris Mattei, attorney for the Connecticut families who wanted the FSS decision to go the other way, said it was still “a good day.”
“Alex Jones has lost ownership of Infowars, the corrupt business he has used for years to attack the Connecticut families and so many others. The Court authorized us to move immediately to collect against all Infowars assets, and we intend to do exactly that,” Mattei said.
Exactly. This defamation lawsuit wasn’t just about reputational damage. It was also about actual damages due to the ongoing harassment of the plaintiffs due to the actions of Alex Jones.
Not sure if has been noted in this six-year old thread, but one of the plaintiffs, Leonard Pozner, and his former wife have been forced to move several times because of continued harassment from Jones’s minions.
Jones’s conduct has been so reprehensible that I hope that the plaintiffs succeed in putting Jones in the poorhouse and putting Infowars out of business.
God, that brings tears to my eyes. It’s hard enough suffering such a devastating loss, but to be constantly hounded and reminded of it and to have it haunt you for years afterwards… Horrible.
Personally I’m wishing he does hide his wealth but in the process commits a whole bunch of massive felonies. Extra points if he hires the same “email the opposing council proof of your perjury” lawyer to defend him
