About To Watch The Matrix For the First Time

OK, folks, I’ve finally gotten around to renting The Matrix to see what all the fuss is about. I won’t be checking back in until after I’ve watched it, but I’ve got it for a week, so here’s your change to educate me.

What’s worth noting? What was great? What stank? I’ll let you know what I think later.

Heeyyyy…

Were you that guy in the coma?!

Nothing to brag about here, its like me saying that I’ve finally gotten around to watching Star Wars for the first time

What’s this Gone With the Wind thing I keep hearing about?

Citizen who?

Someone already beat you to it.

Hee! And that was actually one of most fun threads I’ve read here.

The opening sequence and the final one (starting in the subway) are first class and innovative action sequences.

The rest of the film makes a pretty good sleep aid. Boring, boring, boring.

That wasn’t in the first movie…

Good luck, Siege. I tried watching right before reloaded hit theaters…I could only force myself through the first hour of it.

I saw it for the first time about a month ago -
was underimpressed…I do want to know what you think

This board is the only place I’ve been too on the entire internet that was either unimpressed or bored by The Matrix, where as they find films such as Gone With the Wind riveting…bizarre.

Turn on closed captioning. I found the dialogue in places to be so thoroughly overwhelmed by music and sound effects that it was nearly unintelligible.

Perhaps you’re going, or your speaker output in unbalanced. I, nor anyone I’ve spoken to, have had that issue Warlord.

Perhaps you’re going deaf, or your speaker output is unbalanced. I, nor anyone I’ve spoken to, have had that issue with the movie, Warlord.

If you like it, don’t do as I did and assume the sequel is worth seeing :smack:

Sigh…I made the same mistake sirtonyh made. I enjoyed the original and was utterly disappointed in the sequel. :frowning:

I rewatched it to see if I could glean anything after having watched the second one.

“Whoa!”

You know, it’s not going to meet your expectations. It kicked ass at the time, but I think you had to be there.

I also think that while it did deserve the wide appeal it got, no movie is good for everyone. There are just certain people who won’t like it. And I have to speculate that if you waited this long to see it, you’re one of those people. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but if it doesn’t live up to the hype in your opinion, consider that it may have more to do with you than with the movie itself.

Achernar, I totally agree.

And sirtonyh, I feel for you man, I did the same thing :frowning:
