Abu Ghraib: further photos. Not much to say that has not already been said.
Is this a work-safe link?
Not for Americans.
Photos are of naked bodies covered in blood and excrement, guys having their nads electrocuted etc. , so maybe not the sort of thing you want to share with your maiden aunt.
Support the troops! Awesome people we have representing us over there.
Oh, and why do you hate America?
wonder how the ‘no more serious than a frat prank’ crowd will spin this.
Some of the photos are not new, and at least one of them shows a scene which doesn’t necessarily indicate that the corpse in the photo died because of torture. Not that I’m in anyway defending the use of torture by this misadministration. I don’t doubt that there’s other, more horrorific images out there which haven’t seen the light of day.
I am particularly outraged by the photo of two armed men proudly displaying a mangled corpse caught in some kind of wood- and metal- machine. The one on the right is even smiling!
Pure evil. This disgusts me to no end. What have we unleashed on the world?
A torture conviction should land you a very long prison sentence. Life without the possibility of parole if one of your victims dies. I wonder what kind of time these scumbags will see.
By the way just what the hell am I looking at in photo number 2? That is sure to give me nightmares.
Don’t read much history do you? Nothing has been unleashed.
I don’t think any of these pictures are new. Except maybe the mouse one. Not sure what the purpose of this thread is.
I’m well read in history, fuckface. We’ve unleashed a bunch of pissed off torture victims on the world. Is it really possible to deny this?
No, you were were being all dramatic by saying “what have we unleashed on the world.” Very nicely put. Meaningless but nicely put. I was denying nothing. Go ahead and rend your garments over something that happened years ago and and has been hashed and rehashed here over and over.
And you’re just rubbing your asshole all over your keyboard. Meaningless and poorly put.
Now you’re just babbling. “I know you are but what am I”, would’ve come across better. Time to put down the bottle and go to sleep. You are getting overly emotional.
Are you always this much of a raging asshole? Seriously, you came in here for the sole purpose of talking shit. Fuck the fuck off, you’re off-topic.
Even more than 9-11, this stuff makes me weak on my “no to the death penalty.” These guys are soldiers. I expect more from them.
This kind of wasn’t new when Abu Grahib was built, or when the U.S. was founded, or when Columbus set sail.
That doesn’t make it right, of course, but don’t let’s be overdramatic about it.
From today’s New York Times in reference to Bush opposing restrictions on the use of torture by the CIA:
When else was there photodocumented evidence of US soldiers shocking the balls, smearing prisoners in shit, smiling next to decaying corpses, and committing various sexual and pseudosexual acts? If you can produce that then Loach was at least partially right; I am ignorant of that part of history. They didn’t teach us that in high school or college, and I’ve never read about it online or in the many history books I’ve read.
And forgive me for not having my finger on the pulse of pop-gore but I’ve never seen these particular pictures before. When the story first broke I stopped looking after the naked human pyramid, which was the second or third picture in the series I saw.
