Holy crap.

Pretty sickening

And YET there are those who would deny it, or try to justify it. Where’s the outrage? Where’s the accountability?

Two years ago?

Nope, didn’t notice much myself. Hell, I remember plenty of people - well known and unknown - playing the “it never happened”, the “they are bad and deserve it” and the “you hate America” crap. So now it’s two years later? Is it safe to assume it still happens? Is it safe to assume the “prime movers” and the enablers behind it got off scot free? Or is there some statute of limitation that protects these sorts?

I almost forgot… There were and always are the “let’s wait until all the facts are in” crowd. Strange how many times the final facts were even worse, whatever the case in discussion.

Should be enough time for the CIA agent or agents who were responsible for the homicide to be charged… interesting that they haven’t, yes?

yea, I remember all those folks. I remember the ones talking about “oh, boo hoo, they had to be naked in front of a female, boo hoo” and specifically remember folks like Rush L using the phrase “college pranks”.

I also remember at the time the Republican Senator who kept on saying that the ones that had been released were mild in comparison that there was much, much more and much much worse, but since the pics hadn’t been released the usual suspects around here were absolutely in lock step.

You’d have thought that at some fucking point in time some of those assholes would admit “you were right about the WoMD, you were right about the whole damn Iraq invasion, you were right about the torture and abuse, maybe, just maybe …”

nah - it’d never happen.

Note to self: When humiliating, demoralizing and physically harming inmates in a military prison - do not let my friends take photos.

You were right about the WoMD, you were right about the Iraq Invasion.

… I wasn’t surprised by the torture and abuse, though, I’ve heard too many stories of similar things happening in Korea, Nam, and WWII.

I looked at the photos on Salon site earlier tonite… It’s sad and sick and maddening. The sickest part is that the perpetrators took the photos as trophys.

That’s just about the time I started to really LISTEN to Limbaugh and pay attention to the bile he was spewing. I quickly realized he was a lying rat bastard who’d anally rape his own mother if it helped his damn ratings. Can you tell I can’t stand him?

All I can say is that I can’t imagine anyone not being BEYOND PROUD to be the significant other of SPC Harmon or CPL Graner. I personally think she ought to be expecting a cover-shoot from Vogue.

Their parents must be grinning like the Cheshire cat.

I have never been so ashamed of my country. Yes, I said my country. These people were sent as representatives of the US. And they made a complete mockery of everything the US is supposed to stand for.

There were also those who made the case that we only saw ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics.

For all we knew, these guys were taken out of their king sized feather beds, put up on boxes with hoods on their heads and wires attached to their hands, had their pictures, snapped, and the were given a good massage before being returned to their country club cell.

Or, of course, that’s bullshit. But doesn’t stop people from claiming it.

Which reminds me:

Wonder if ol’ Cal has repented, or reminded any of the other false prophets of their need to repent.

Yeh, riiiiight.

The cells were clearly cold.

ducks and runs

I’m sure it’s all the fault of libruls for thinking bad thoughts and therefore making Iraqi’s unhappy about having their country occupied. Remember - the Right don’t use logic, facts or a knowledge of history or human nature when making decisons. They rely on Magical Thinking.

No, they were in the pool!
