Abuse of the word "essentially"

Does anyone else hate it when people try to sound smart by adding the word “essentially” to a sentence that doesn’t need it?

Examples:

If we were to add 2’ to that 6’ tall structure it would essentially be 8’ tall.

Things are not going right. Essentially we should discuss this in a meeting.

What he said isn’t true. Essentially he is lying.

Am I the only one bothered by this?

Essentially, this could be a pit thread. I don’t think it’s wrong here, but you might get more responses. People who hang out in the pit get like to rant about language use. Essentially. And yes, I agree.
