Now, THIS is a story I would actually enjoy hearing.
I was 17. He was 16. We were arguing and he shoved me back into the room when I tried to leave. I told him if it ever happened again, we were over.
A month later. We were arguing, he shoved me back down on the bed and held me down by my throat. I broke up with him. He cried, begged, pleaded. Obviously he had a listening problem, because I goddamn told him what would happen if it ever happened again. I am not emotionally or psychologically capable of loving a partner who is abusive. The second he crossed the line, I felt nothing for him. Immediately.
I’m hoping he learned something from that experience.
Because she’s new here and doesn’t know the rules. But, you know, there actually is a remedy for that - reading the rules and reading threads for a while and getting a feel for this place.

First time it happened to me I was caught off guard. I had been married close to 15 years and wife had recently taken up drinking, she became alcoholic amost overnight. Hit me over the head with a wine bottle when I was looking in the fridge. Like a dummy I put my arms around her and told her she needed to get rid of this anger somehow. About 10 assaults and 5 years later I put her over my knee, pulled down her pants and spanked her ass purple. I went to jail that night but charges were dropped and I moved out and got divorced. She got sober and we have remained close friends but nothing more.

They are not calling for your banning, they are predicting that you will be. They’re basically making no-stakes bets on how long you’ll last. We’ve seen many people come here and post the way you do, and most of them can’t seem to grasp the rules, and are quickly banned.
