Best Picture - American Beauty
Actor - Denzel Washington (not to sound bad, but he’ll get it because it’s a race sensitve role, in a race sensitive movie, but to save face, I honestly like Denzel Washington, he’s got a lot of class, and he’s awesome on screen)
Supporting Actor - Michael Caine
Actress - Hilary Swank
Supporting Actress - Angelina Jolie (sorry, I had to say her, I haven’t heard of the rest)
Art Direction - Sleepy Hollow
Cinematography - End of the Affair

I for one am looking forward to the beautiful rendition of “Blame Canada” which will no doubt be the centerpiece of the awards broadcast.

I was driving today at lunchtime listening to NPR when I heard Leonard Maltin mention that South Park got a nomination for best song. The real shocking part was when I found it wasn’t Uncle F*er.

I admit I have not seen Anna and the King, but it seems like just the sort of thing that has one in the past. Also, I haven’t seen all the other nominated movies in all the categories, so we’ll just call them educated guesses.

Now, if I can only figure out why the Academy snubbed Dogma…

Um, because Dogma was a dumb comedy with lots of sex jokes. The kind of movie that doesn’t get nominated. I liked it, but I’m not surprised the Academy didn’t.
