A colleague at work has this problem. Google searches not helpful so I turn to the repository of all knowledge, The Dope:
She has Acrobat Reader XI (does not have full Acrobat) on her computer (running XP). She is trying to open scanned documents that she saved as PDFs. Some open to a completely gray screen, but at the top of the page it shows pages 1-2, 1-3, etc. Other docs open and you can see the text (image) through a gray screen.
This is not happening with other PDFs, just these scanned docs. Also the scanned docs can be read with Reader (not sure what version) on other computers.
Should we migrate back to an earlier version of Reader? We haven’t exhausted all options, just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
