You just can’t tell some people not to touch their future self…
Great actor. Loved him in Timecop and Silent Rage.
You know, I must be getting soft in the head, because I could have sworn he was also in Lord of Illusions. I seem to remember him as the cult member who kills his whole family and then calmly packs his clothes on his way to the compound, but I just checked IMDB, and he’s apparently not in it.
Yeah, he was great. I just remember him looking his past self up and down.
“And do me a favor, all right? Lay off the fucking candy bars.”
Not to mention a great political consultant on West Wing
He gave IMHO an excellent performance reading Roth’s ‘The Plot Against America’ for the audio book. A good reader is vastly important, and he did a wonderful job.
I’m very sad to hear this. I loved him as an actor and even had a crush on him back in the 90’s. I wasn’t crazy about the fact that he changed his political views but I still liked him, he was just that charming.
Somewhere Bill “The Sports Guy” Simmons is crying after that magical fall when Ron Silver starred in Skin and screamed “HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY!” every chance he got.
Man, I’m gonna miss this guy.
That’s a shame.
Man, that’s sad. I had no idea he was ill - I liked him as the bad guy in Blue Steel, a movie that only I seem to enjoy.
Silver also won a Tony Award for Speed-the-Plow.
He was a really good actor.
Reversal of Fortune and Enemies: A Love Story had much showier, meatier parts than his, but his contribution to both films was essential in making them as good as they are. This news came as quite a shock to me when I heard this morning. A complicated guy, from all appearances, but quite talented. RIP.
I didn’t even know he was sick. He had the same kind of cancer my mom has, so I would have remembered it if I heard about it. Poor guy, cancer of the esophagus is a horrible disease.
He’ll always be that guy who Rhoda thought was hitting on her and it turns on he didn’t like her 'cause she was to old for him.
But he did agree to switch flats with Rhoda
