This makes me very sad. Loved Barney Miller, loved Glass’ character.
RIP Har
headed down to the library to check out a copy of “Blood On the Badge”.
I’ll say a prayer for you , Shepherd Book.
Poor guy’s death will barely be noticed. Great role. RIP Ron.
I think you underestimate the Browncoats.
I’ve been watching the re-runs for the second time around on antenna TV and like everybody on this show.
It’s much better than the crap that’s on now days.
71, too young
I only knew him from Barney Miller but he was great in that
Barney Miller has been my favorite TV show since the day it came on. Detective Harris was a complex character – ultimately very likable despite a high degree of smarminess.
I’ve caught Ron Harris here and there in other shows. He definitely had presence.
What the fuck 2016. Stop it already.
Who is left from the detective squad in Barney Miller? Also, my favorite Ron Glass bit:
Too much hair!. I personally felt this all the way down to my kinky roots.
Here’s a list.
Haven’t updated Ron Glass yet.
Will the last one standing on New Year’s Eve please shut off the lights and let the dog out, Please?
Hal Linden is still alive? I thought he died ages ago.
Ron Glass was a master with a one-liner.
Damn, yeah: 71 is too young.
As will I. An atheist prayer that 2016 just says, “Enough” and quits early.
He was in a revival of The Odd Couple with Demond Wilson. He played Felix.
The first time I saw him was in the Archie Bunker episode where he played the assistant to the fridge repairman. Archie, Mike and Edith are all having supper at a restaurant and telling Gloria about the fridge repair that afternoon.
Glass played three different roles: the “Steppin’ Fetchit” guy in Mike’s version of events; the Black Panther in Archie’s recollection; and the normal young repairman in Edith’s accurate recollection. Glass played all three roles so well that I still remember them, all these years later.
RIP, Mr Glass/Harris. Hope you and Dietrich have a good reunion.
So of the detectives, just Barney, Wojo and Chano are still with us.
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can’t take the sky from me
Any Ron Glass fan who hasn’t seen Firefly yet would be well-advised to watch it. Shepard Book was a great role for him.
Just keep walking, Preacher man.
