Woody Harrelson - He’s got that backwoods inbred amoral leer and I’m absolutely positive that if he hadn’t made it as an actor he would have followed in his fathers footsteps and killed a few people by now. Add to that his adopted hollywood airhead yoga freak hemp activist persona and, well, he just needs to go away!
Woody Allen ~ I totally detest this so called Actor…
Martha Stewart may not fit in as an actress but I had to put her name in…I can’t stand her and her smug better than thou attitude,It makes me crazy to try to watch her on tv!!!
I always hated Woody Allen, even before the whole Soon-Yi thing. I noticed him staring at me once on a Manhattan street. All I could do not to go up and just slap his smary face.
And Jerry Seinfeld. Lets face it, both these “actors” are self-absorbed egotists who are morally banktupted.
Julia Roberts. I almost died laughing when I saw that side by side photo comparison of her and a collie. I hated her even before I hated her politics.
Jennifer Lopez. I just can’t stand her little “I haven’t forgotten my roots” schtick. Of course not, she’s making a fortune by pretending to be a common girl. Plus, her songs are horrible. That one she did a few years back with the 2 big, fat rappers was beyond wretched.
Shepard Smith . Does he count as a celeb? Probably not.
He’s a super smug anchor on Fox News. I have no real reason to loathe him but I do. I think it’s his face that causes me to feel that way. He looks like he’s had too many botox injections. He also seems kind of dim. I understand a lot of female Fox News fans dig him so I have a bad feeling he may be a male version of the teleprompter reading bimbo.
Michael Douglas is up there. “Hey, we need someone for this complete asshole role. Is Michael free?”
I don’t find Jack Nicholson funny or cute. I find him to be a dickhead. I found ‘As Good As It Gets’ to be nearly insufferable and couldn’t understand why on earth Helen Hunt was wasting any time at all on this bastard.
And “Rush Hour” asked the question: “Does Legomancer like Jackie Chan more than he hates Chris Tucker?” The answer was “No.” Haven’t seen it and don’t want to. Chris Tucker is just plain awful. He was most of the reason I hated ‘The Fifth Element’. I was perfectly happy to have the Earth destroyed and all humanity wiped out if it meant Chris Tucker would be off the screen.
Thanks for reminding me of Woody Allen.
The last Allen film I saw was the horrible, terrible, embarrassing “Interiors.” I walked out and have never been back.
Will Ferrell. Holy shit. The man doesn’t have an ounce of talent and he’s got one of those faces that just makes you want to hit him again and again and again with a shovel.
I always found it amusing that the SNL cast and varied guest stars did such a good job on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” by imitating various celebrities, and yet Ferrell either didn’t even bother trying to imitate Alex Trebek, or was so bad at it he LOOKED like he wasn’t trying.
I really don’t like Martin Lawrence, but I have to admit, Bad Boys was pretty fun to watch, and I really liked Nothing to Lose. I guess these have a lot to deal with who they’re working with as well. But dreck like Big Momma’s House and Black Night? ANd his show? Ehhhhh…
Ben Afleck pulls towards the top of my list. I saw Mallrats and everything about him was a perfect match for this guy I know who, as Jess mentioned, has that “entittled” attitude about him. I don’t see how he keeps ending up on all these “Hottest Actors” lists, his voice is annoying as fuck, he can’t act worth a damn, and he mumbles. If it weren’t for his director friends, he’d never have made it into Hollywood, and the world would have been better for it.
Denise Richards…my GOD, could there BE an fuglier “hot chick” out there? She’s grotesque! We ran a story recently about plastic surgery and what celebrity body parts women liked the best, and I was APPHAULED that this funky ass bitches LIPS were considered to be the most attractive? NOOO!! And maybe I haven’t seen that much of her, but her stints in Starship Troopers, The World is Not Enough, and Wild Things all prove she doesn’t have one iota of talent.
Sandra Bullock
Adam Sandler
Halle Berry
Denise Richards
Woody Allen
My wife and I had to leave the batman movie with Jim Carey. If I had spent one more second watching his face contort I would have started snarling like a rabid pit bull.
I want Martin Lawrence to go away as well, especially when he’s in drag.
Plus - who was that guy who played frodo in LOTR? He spend half the movie making that Michael Landon compassion face. Hated it.
Adam Sandler
Rob Schnieder
Wilford Brimley
And am I the only one getting sick of Vin Diesel?
Molly Shannon. She’s like your annoying little cousin who thinks that to be funny, they just need to scream louder and flail around more.
I’m sorry, but Will Ferrell cracks me up.
Adam Sandler I like for his Punch-Drunk Love work. I think he did an amazing job.
I never liked Sarah Michelle Gellar as a person (not an actress). I’ve seen her on talk shows and getting interviewed, and just don’t like her personality. She seems pretty smug IMHO. She also said something about gay men, or implied something about gay men that was, IMHO, pretty negative. I don’t remember what it was, so don’t ask for a cite or specifics.
Picking on Steven Seagal’s acting is like beating up crippled children. Dopers are held to a higher standard of ethics. We shold direct our anger at bad actors who are held up to be superstars.
That said I agree with a couple of choices, Meg Ryan and Ben Affleck, as being most deserving of a smack in the face from the shovel of justice. Where’s Bill Macy when you really need him Jess summed it up as well as I ever could.
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Yes, she’s drop-dead gorgeous, but she’s (partly) responsible for the break-up of a marriage.
I’ve lost some respect for Michael Douglas too.
Two lists here…
First, those actors/actresses I can’t stand because of their onscreen style/ability:
Pauly Shore
Woody Allen
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Wesley Snipes (with the exception of the Blade movies)
Martin Lawrence
Next, those actors/actresses I can’t stand because of their personalities offscreen:
Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon
Richard Gere
Woody Harrelson
Barbra Streisand
Sean Penn
What are her politics?
Off the top of my head?
I’ll second Meg Ryan (and, by association, Tom Hanks). I think I’ve mentioned this before, but MadTV did a sketch of them playing JonBenet Ramsey’s parents all cutesy-like and it was dead on hilarious.
Jenniver Love Hewitt- yes, she’s got big boobs. Huzzah. There are no breasts big enough to make up for her lack of talent, not even in the Guinness.
Katie Holmes- for the love of god, learn to use both sides of your face.
Richard Gere- he just seems so smarmy. I don’t care if he’s Buddhist, he’s got the smug superiority of a newly saved Christian teen wearing a WWJD bracelet and preaching to her family.
Russell Crowe- cheers to Leelee Sobieski who, after he asked her out, told him she’d call when she turned 18 (she was really 19 or so at the time)
Is that really all I can think of? I swear, any time I open a magazine I hear myself groaning “Oh, I HATE her/him.”
Gah. It would be easier for me to make a list of actors I don’t despise. Most actors I loathe are the ones who obviously have galactic egos, who think that because they are famous their opinion somehow counts more than anyone else’s, and those actors who think they’re talented but in reality are sad hacks who just can’t get through a single scene without looking like they’re in the junior high spring musical.
Here’s a short list of my most hated Hollywood denizens:
Ben Affleck
Matt Damon
Julia Roberts
Meg Ryan
Michael Douglas
Mel Gibson
Jennifer Lopez
Richard Gere
Sean Connery
Barbara Streisand
Woody Allen
Tom Hanks
Martin Lawrence
Brittney Murphy
Heather Graham
Bruce Willis
Steven Seagal
any Baldwin
Kim Basinger
Sharon Stone
Madonna
Adam Sandler
Jim Carrey
that girl from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”
Hugh Grant
Ron Schneider
Eddie Murphy
Vin Diesel
Gwynneth Paltrow
Jack Nicholson
Warren Beatty
whew And so many more…
On the other hand, I have a sort of respect for actors who clearly suck, and must know it, but try really hard anyway. Like Harrison Ford- I’ve heard him say in interviews that he doesn’t think he’s very talented, but he always tries his best. I’m pretty sure Tom Cruise is like this, too. I hate practically every movie either of them have ever been in, but I must give them credit. Keanu Reeves I don’t really have a problem with, despite his lack of talent creating a sucking hole in the exact center of every movie he’s in. I just think he’s chronically miscast: he does a fabulous job playing an ambitionless stoner, and this really ought to be taken into account. He would make a great new-wave member of a “Cheech and Chong” movie.
