Actors and actresses that have no charisma and leave no impression

Who are some actors and actresses who have had several major roles, yet have so little charisma that no one seems to notice or remember them?

I’m not talking about character actors who play their role and blend into the background, I’m talking about people in high-profile roles who you completely forget about once you leave the theater.

To me the ideal example of this is Sam Worthington. I’ve mentioned his name to a couple of very knowledgeable friends, and they both said “Who”? And yet, he starred in Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans, and freakin’* Avatar*.

Who else is totally forgettable in starring roles? Note I’m not talking about people who can’t act - just those who make no impression.

With my pick, I’m taking Kristen Stewart.

I know, too easy.

Subjective of course, but Shia Laboeuf is this way to me. I always assumed that’s why he was successful- the “everyman” quality- but apparently some people find him sexy.

For me it’s Amber Heard. Every time I see her name in the opening credits of something I’m watching, I think “I’ve seen the name before,” then look her up, and am shocked that I don’t remember her at all in roles from movies I’ve seen a few times. Then I don’t recognize her again when she shows up in the movie I’m watching.

Over the years, there have been many such actors and actresses. Among them:

Kate Beckinsale
William Hurt
Ryan O’Neal
Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds FTW.

Josh Hartnett

Nice body but can’t act and never changes expression.

I gotta go with that one guy, with the hair and nose.

Bill Paxton. No, wait. I mean Bill Pullman. Or is it Paxton? Pullman?

I’ve never seen her, because frankly I don’t watch that sort of stuff, but I have considerable respect for her as I’ve seen some photographs of her — and she’s fit — and since, like a few other lovely, young blonde actresses, she bravely announced her bisexuality.

I can truly say this doesn’t turn me on at all, quite the opposite as I’m not a sharing person; but she had the courage to face the consequences of her integrity, which is admirable; and maybe made it easier for other lovely, young blonde actresses to do the same.

I wouldn’t necessarily characterize the impression Kristen Stewart leaves as positive, but I don’t think she qualifies under “leaves no impression” at all. She’s someone who you can readily bring to mind, even if that image is the Platonic ideal of sullenness.

Worthington’s my top pick. Reynolds, at least, comes off as sarcastically funny in some of his roles. But when I try to visualize Sam Worthington’s face, inevitably I end up thinking of entirely different actors.

Beckinsale’s the female equivalent. Even now, I’m trying to picture what she looks like, but I’m pretty sure the image coming to mind is Liv Tyler.

I thought he was pretty good in that other movie.

Andie MacDowell has never had a drop of blood in her veins in any film I can think of.

He’s the one who looks that that guy in that commercial, right?

Anyone named Kate, Jennifer, or Ryan. They are all like little brown hamsters scurrying on a wheel, they all look alike, they’re all in mediocre movies, and are all forgettable. I know some young women (you’d think they’d be fans) who feel the same way, they complain these people have generic faces and haven’t made any impression in movies, good or bad. … I would like to add one Channing Tatum, whom TPTB are trying extremely hard to make happen. He is such a total cipher it’s pathetic, yet for a while there they were pushing him as moviedom’s Last Great Hope.

No, no.. that’s that other guy. This is the guy who was in that thing with the girl with the eyes and that other dude you see all the time that used to be on that show about the stuff.

Oh, ***that ***guy. Sure…I know who you mean.

James Franciscus!

No, Tony Fransciosa!

It would be Franciscus. Franciosa had a personality and I liked him in “The Name of the Game.”

I came into this thread to mention him.
