Most people would title this as “GOOD A/A who never got their big break in Hollywood.”
I have one good actor. After Highlander 1 and a mini-series on tv, I next saw him already old and doing short supports. Clancy Brown. The wife simply said, “no appeal.”
I’ll go with Worthington also. Before I ever heard of him I remember James Cameron saying how he picked him for Avatar cause he thought he’d be the next big thing.
Needless to say I thought he was pretty dull and forgettable.
Then I saw Terminator Salvation. Again he was forgettable. Same again for Clash of the Titans.
He’s not terrible or annoying. Just no screen presence.
Really? He’s instantly identifiable to me; the face, the voice, the sneer. Sure, he always plays the same basic character, but he certainly has some charisma. I’ve seen serial trailers and recognized him.
Nobody to contribute (I can bately remember actors I like), but can I throw out the antithesis of this? Pete Postlethwait. Always had supporting roles, and was always, always recognizable and awesome in them.
I agree. Even for a movie that already had two skilled, bald drivers and martial artists, there was no confusing him with anyone else when he showed up in the post-credits scene of Fast & Furious 6.
I finally saw Star Trek Into Darkness last night. As the flashy credits were swooshing around, I saw the name Karl Urban. I was trying to remember which character he played. Oh yeah, McCoy.
Which is disappointing, in a way. I pretty much like everybody in the main cast. He just got a little bit lost in the shuffle.
