Actors and actresses that have no charisma and leave no impression

I have heard them once described as “the cold, dead eyes of a serial killer.” Made perfect sense to me.

I would classify Karl Urban more as one of those guys who just blends into every role he plays. I was watching **Red **the other day, and spent half the movie trying to figure out who he was.

I do the same thing with every movie Mark Ruffalo is in. I spent most of **Shutter Island **and Zodiac going “Who *is *that guy?”

Karl Urban looks really different in different roles to me. I mean, Eomer doesn’t look much like McCoy, and neither of them look like his Riddick character.

I can’t think of the kid’s name, but that guy who was in Battleship and John Carter doesn’t leave a strong impression. Taylor something?

Scarlett Johansson.

That noise was the sound of my brain breaking. McCoy was Eomer? Wow.

And the soldier in Doom. I have trouble making all of those fit in the same frame, too.

And the dude that nearly beat the shit out of Bruce “Grandpa” Willis in Red.

Taylor Kitsch. Excellent call.

I found Kate mesmerising in the Underworld series. (Admittedly the leather may have helped..

Threads like this are pretty much instances of YMMV. That being said, I think in the case of Beckinsale, her lack of presence has a lot to do with the roles she plays. I think she can act. For example, she did very well in Cold Comfort Farm where she was in the unenviable position of having to play a reasonable and sane person surrounded by eccentrics and parodies of British literary stereotypes. However, in the last 12 years or so she seems content to play pretty nothings in Hollywood rom-coms and explosion-laden action flicks rather than do anything that’s challenging and could take her career to another level.

Rory Calhoun?

And Julius Ceasar in Xena: Warrior Princess.

And Judge Dredd!

I was going to vote Taylor Kitsch, but that’s only because I forgot Sam Worthington existed.

I think you may mean Will Patton. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think he may be the winner here. I’ve had to look up who he is, both when he was first mentioned in this thread, when I saw Dredd, basically every time I see him I have to re-figure out who the hell he is, despite the fact that he’s been in a whole bunch of HUGE movies.

See, that tells me that Karl Urban is a good character actor, who can change his looks and mannerisms to fit each role. I’m not saying he’s a brilliant actor or anything, and of the roles mentioned I’ve only seen McCoy and Eomer, but if you don’t remember him I think it’s because he melts into each role, not necessarily because he himself has no charisma. He seems to try to focus on the character, not overpower the character with his own persona.

James Coburn once described William Hurt as a “hair” actor. He only changes his hair from role to role. All I can say to that is, James Coburn would have known!

I think this thread has diverged to actors that people dislike. I mean, Ryan Reynolds? You went to the Green Lantern movie and after it was over, went, “Hey who was the actor who played the main character again?”? I don’t buy it.

Huh, I haven’t seen him in much stuff but in Eastbound and Down I thought he was funnier than hell.

My vote goes to Renee Zellweger for most forgettable actress.

She makes two large impressions
I’ll agree with Sam Worthington. I’ve only seen him in Terminator Salvation and I didn’t really get why everyone in Hollywood seems to think he’ll be the next big thing.
