Actors appearing together who've been married to the same person, "past" and "future"?

I recently watched “Capricorn One,” starring (among others) Elliott Gould and James Brolin. And I thought, when this movie was made (1978), Gould had already been married and divorced from Barbra Streisand, and Brolin’s marriage to her was still way in the future.

What other movies/tv shows had actors who were “past” and “future” spouses of the same person . . . but neither was married to the person at the time it was made?

Would any of the movies featuring Liz Taylor and Richard Burton work?

Oh, like if Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter were in a movie before either of them met Kenneth Branagh? Or does that not work? I think they’ve both been in the same movie now that neither of them is with Branagh…

If we have to stick to movies done BETWEEN the two marriages, I’m stumped.

I know that Frank Sinatra and Mickey Rooney appeared together in “That’s Entertainment,” and both were married at one time to Ava Gardner.

Thompson and Bonham Carter were both in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Branagh, incidentally, was in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Of course, that probably doesn’t mean that much since I think there’s a law requiring all British actors to appear in at least one Harry Potter movie. (Not that I follow the Harry Potter books and movies.)

Oh, come on. We all know you have the complete series in hardback, all of the DVDs (Deluxe Edition), and are actively trying to get her autograph.

Helena Bonham Carter and Emma Thompson were in Howards End together in 1992 - according to Wikipedia this is before Helena and Kenneth Branagh began their relationship in 1994, but before the official divorce of ET and KB in 1995. So I guess it only half fits the OP.

Only if there’s a person who was married to both of them. :dubious:

Yes, it’s the BETWEEN part that makes it tough. Surely “Capricorn One” can’t be the only example. I admit “Howard’s End” is close.

Jack Webb cast his ex wife Julie London and her husband Bobby Troup in EMERGENCY.

The episode “Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road” of the show Dawson’s Creek featured both the former and future Mrs. Tom Cruise: Mimi Rogers & Katie Holmes.

Furthermore, none of the three ever did any scenes together.

Not sure if this counts, but a few years ago there was a made for TV movie entitled These Old Broadsthat starred Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor among others. Reynolds and Taylor were both married to Eddie Fisher and in the movie they had the fictional characters they played as the ex-wives of the same man.
