On screen couples who are (or were) real couples too.

A few days ago I was surprised to find out that David Giuntoli and Bitsie Tulloch, Nick and Juliette from Grimm, are a real life couple.

Today I find out that Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, Snow White and Prince Charming from Once Upon a Time are married.

Of course just about everybody knows that Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco dated a while in real life while playing love interests in The Big Bang Theory.

And finally, in the movie Once the two leads briefly had a romantic relationship.

What other examples of TV and movies are there?

I take it you already know about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz ?

Bogie and Bacall

Taylor and Burton

Ozzie and Harriet

Newman & Woodward.

Wood and Wagner.

Linda Kaye and Mike Minor (“Betty Jo” and “Steve” on Petticoat Junction).

In Buffy the Vampire slayer, Willow and Wesley were a real life couple, but in the series they were just friends.

William Shatner and his first wife (“Gloria Rand”) appeared on Canadian TV together back in the '50s. How many times, I don’t know.

From the movie The Fly, Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. Interestingly in a lot of photos Geena Davis’ husband looks like some midget version of Jeff Goldblum.

On the series House, M.D., two of the leads, Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morris were engaged at the same time their characters, Dr. Chase and Dr. Cameron, were in a relationship. Spencer and Morris broke off their engagement. Their characters got married, then divorced.

Pitt and Jolie.

On Psych, Maggie Lawson and James Roday were a real-life couple throughout shooting the series, they hooked up sometime during the first season, though kept it quiet. After the series ended they split up.

Hepburn and Tracy.

Interestingly enough, Spencer Tracy was married to his wife until his own death. The woman he really loved for 26 years was Katharine Hepburn, but neither he nor Louise (Spencer’s wife, from whom he was estranged) tried to obtain a divorce, and Katharine Hepburn never pushed for one.

Apparently they were rather comfortable with that particular arrangement.

George and Gracie

Roy and Dale

damn! I’m old

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, in Dream House.

Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter (who played his sister) from Dexter

Benjamin McKenzie and Morena Baccarin on Gotham. She’s pregnant with McKenzie’s baby and in the middle of divorcing her husband. Their on-screen relationship makes me uncomfortable because of the real-world story, which is a shame because they’re a cute couple.
