Thank you for this thread… otherwise my head would have popped like a pimple. I was flipping through channels on a weekend morning and I came across an early re-run of ‘90210’. Pretty much anyone from that cast can qualify for this thread, but as far as the person who makes me ill watching her “acting ability” is Shannen Doherty.
She is horrible… I don’t think she even puts any effort into acting… and I definitely don’t think she got the job for being attractive, either.
Anyhoo, I’ll also add my vote for pretty much anyone of those Scientologist loonies. = )
Here is one person I am surprised no one has mentioned yet… Paris Hilton :dubious:
I mean come on already. Why anyone would cast here in anything is a mystery to me.
Another that just rubs me wrong is Angelina Jolie She’s creepy and talentless
Same goes for Ben Stiller. My god, can someone please explain Zoolander to me!
I also despise all the Scientologists (with a special hatred reserved for Tom Cruise ) Just shut up already. I can’t wait until they all get beamed up by the mothership.
Reading this thread was fun little game for me. I had my choice in my mind when I read the title and as I read the posts I kept thinking “Somebody is going to steal my answer”. But nobody did (as far as I saw). Each post for 3 pages I thought the same thing. But nothing. So here is hands-down the most annoying person to even call themselves an actress:
I don’t find her attractive but I do find her annoying. She’s too goddamn skinny, her lips are too thin and she has a weird nose. There’s something about her acting I can’t put into words that just bugs me.
On my way to work, so can’t read the whole thread,
For me-
Nicole Kidman. I don’t care if she’s beautiful. She strikes me as wooden and one note.
Meg Ryan–every character she plays is Sally. I love Sally, but …
George Clooney–he went on the Carson show (as in Johnny-or was it Leno, memory fails) and was quite rude about his aunt, Rosemary–who helped him get started in the business. I never liked him after that. Pretty full of himself, that one.
Tom Cruise–his early movies were all variations on the young maverick etc, but after his nutso episodes on Oprah etc–blech.
Hillary Swank–get the teeth fixed, please. And stop kissing your brother on the mouth. Thank you.
The Olsen twins do not qualify as actors to my mind, so never mind about them.
Another vote for Tom Cruise here. Aside from the culty stuff, I hate him because he’s found a safe zone for his acting performances, and he won’t venture out of it anymore. He used to take chances and play parts that were outside his comfort zone, but no more! The only character he plays anymore is Tom Cruise.
Also, his scientology beliefs creep me out to no end. There is something very sinister about that religion, and it shows in his empty, evil, hollow eyes.
Hmm.
So only one other person besides me (RikWriter) can’t stand Catherine Zeta-Jones.
She is beautiful and a fairly convincing actress, but there is something about her: whenever I watch her perform I get feeling in the back of my mind that in real life she is a smug complacent horrid person. And it rubs me the wrong way enough to actually spoil my enjoyment of whatever movie she’s in.
Probably because this thread is two and a half years old, and she hadn’t been around and as annoying as long then.
As for me, I’ll add Jeff Goldblum to the list. I hate the arrogant “I’m just so sexy I know I’ll make you melt” vibe some men try to give off, especially when they really aren’t that attractive to begin with.
Also in the arrogant male mode, I’m not fond Bruce Willis, either. I can deal with him when he’s in the mode he was in in “Sixth Sense,” but I found him utterly repulsive in his full “Moonlighting”-smugness mode…
I’ve only seen a couple of her movies but somethinh about Rachel McAdams just bugs the crap out of me. I find her really over-mannered and self-conscious. She’s not a tenth as cute as she thinks she is. In Redeye I was rooting for the bad guy to kill her.
Never heard of her. Looked up her picture… never seen her before, either. I’ll have to reserve judgement.
My list: Julia Roberts (hate her lips, and she’s annoying) Adam Sandler (makes me want to eat a barbed wire salad with vinaigrette dressing) Hugh Grant (extremely unattractive yet somehow played up as a “hunk”-- he looks like he was born with a birth defect of some sort to me, and he couldn’t act his way out of a wet paper sack)
Jennifer Aniston makes me want to put hot pokers in her eyes. That goes for all the Friends cast.
