Adam Levine quits The Voice

Adam wasn’t happy with some of the recent changes (Live Cross Battles). His entire team got eliminated before the Top 8.

Adam hasn’t done well for several seasons. He’s gone into the finals with no singers several times. Sitting there for shows and eliminated from the game must be uncomfortable. He was grumpy during taping a couple weeks ago.

Honestly, I think the show’s popularity is declining. I doubt it’ll last more than another two or three seasons.

Who knows, Adam may return after a season off. I’m sure the money is hard to resist.

He did leave a classy goodbye on his Twitter.

Btw Kelly Clarkson also went into the finals with no singers. (Her singer won the last two seasons)

Blake had 3 and John Legend had 1 in the final 4.

IIRC Blake has never gone into the finals without at least one singer. He often has more than one in the finals. He’s had a lot of success on the show.

I used to wonder why these singers did these shows . Then I realized it’s all about $$$ for very little work.

Nm. I got nuttin good to say

Blake has said several times that The Voice is easier money than touring.

The show’s success did a lot to advance Adam and Blake’s careers.

Blake especially went from a modest success in Country to being a top seller. Seems like every single he releases goes #1.

By 2011, Maroon 5 biggest days were behind them. That changed after Adam got on The Voice. Their recent tours have sold really well.

I find it very hard to believe that any of them care if their “team” wins or loses. Stranger things have happened I guess.

they don’t get any bonus for a win do they? If they did they might care about winning

I remember the coaches commenting that the training and performance experience these singers receive is invaluable. Something that will benefit them regardless of winning or losing.

I guess bragging rights for a win means something to these coaches

It probably is frustrating to get your team eliminated before the final. The coach still has to be on camera and pretend to be interested. It must get pretty boring with nothing to do.

Kat Perkins, who was on season 6 of the show, is from the Minneapolis area and is often a guest on local radio shows. Her two take-aways from being on the show, and Hollywood shows like this in general are 1) Nothing is real, and 2) Everybody smokes.
She said the shows are so heavily edited from reaction shots, to performance order, to retakes, to things cut out, delays, etc. that what you see as the show is pretty far removed from reality.
And apparently the judges all chain smoked non-stop whenever the cameras were off.

He gets paid $13 million a season. I can put up with a lot of boredom for $13 million.
