Does anyone know of a program that will go throught that list and take out any programs that appear, but do no actually exist on your computer? I have some programs that I uninstalled, but they are still showing up in the list.
Also, does anyone know of a good program that goes through all the dlls on a computer and figures out which are not needed anymore?
Try X-teq’s X-Setup utility for the removal of ‘ghost’ items in the add/remove list. (I think the website is xteq.com.)
For the second part… Hmmm. I know Fix-It Utilities can find invalid short-cut files (*.lnk), but I don’t know if it can sniff out unneeded *.dll’s. I’d have to poke around the program when I get home to check that out. I am currently unaware of any programs that specifically examine the *.dll’s to see if they’re needed though… this is something I’d be interested in also.
