Addictive games for palm pilot

I recently got a Tungsten T from Palm, and I love it. I have it set up to download my schedule at work, and I have all the contacts I’ll ever need at my disposal. I also have an e-book reader, which has provided hours of entertainment.

But I want some games. Sure, it’s great being organized, but I need some distractions. All work and no play, you know.

So who knows a good palm game. Preferably free, but I don’t mind paying if it’s good.

I play Bedazzeled and Monopoly on mine.

Popcap Games is a great source of addictive fun.

Before you download Bookworm, though, be warned… I’ve had my life threatened for recommending this game. Every time I tell someone about it, I feel like a crack dealer saying the first hit’s free. Lives are being destroyed by this thing, I tell you. It’s evil. And fun.

By far my most favourite game for the Tungsten T is ‘Dopewars’. It’s a drug-dealing game where you have to make as much money as you can in 30 days.

Hmm, I’d never put it on my palm- I’ve played the PC version many times and, while I like the game, I am continually frustrated by the inadequacies of its dictionary.

I can send you the freeware version of Scrabble. Handmark bought it from the writer, so you can’t get updates on it, but it doesnt have a liscence on it…

I gave dopewars to a co-worker. His wife and teenage son also are into the Palm thing, so it spread to them. His wife is also the local police chief.

The co-worker relates to me that the family was discussing their happenings in the game (i.e., bought some drugs and a gun, got chased by the police, got a bigger coat to be able to hold more drugs to deal, in major hock with the loansharks) and people at the other tables in the restaurant were giving them funny looks.

I hate Dopewars. I usually play good ol’ Blackjack.

For me it’s either FreeCell or BackGammon. I have Handmark’s Scrabble, but I don’t play it very often.

I have a good rummy game by Seahorse Software. It’s the only game I’ve liked enough (and thought the price was reasonable - $8) to actually pay for and register. They also have a good free version of Pyramid solitare that I play quite a bit because it’s fast.

I loved Bejeweled but I thought the cost too steep and played until my free games were up. Sigh! (I still sneak in and play it online though, heh.)
