I generate a rather large PDF using LaTeX, and then view the PDF in Adobe Reader, on Windows.
Very often, I find a mistake that needs correcting, whilst reading the PDF, so I quickly change the LaTeX and recompile. As the document is already open in Adobe, the document is refreshed, so that the new version is visible.
However, Adobe resets the currently visible page, so I get taken back to the front page of my document, which is a pain. Is there any way of forcing Adobe to retain the page that I am viewing after refreshing?
I know this is available on some Linux PDF viewers (KPDF comes to mind), but I cannot seem to find the relevant setting (if it exists) in Adobe. Checking “Restore last view settings when reopening documents” doesn’t seem to do anything, despite sounding almost exactly like what I want (I restarted Reader, too).
Is this feature available, and if so, how do I enable it?
TIA
