Yes, he’s had a couple of fantastic games and looks unstoppable.
But look at the two games before this one.
Vs. Cowboys AP= 63 yds.
Vs. Eagles AP= 70 yds.
So obviously the guy is somewhat vulnerable and a couple teams were able to stop him.
Will he have the consistency and longevity to be awesome for the next 2-5 years?
Or is he just the running-back du jour?
He just wasn’t getting very many touches in those two games. Those were games where the Vikings were behind and had to throw the ball. His yards per carry was still good in those games, and YPC is the measure of consistency. He hasn’t been shut down by anybody or looked at all “vulnerable,” he just hasn’t gotten the ball in some games (something Brad Childress was getting some withering criticism for here locally).
So what would you predict for the upcoming game against GreenBay?
If Childress gives him a ton of carries like all the fans are screaming for and he comes out with less than 100 yds. for the game what do we conclude?
That Green Bay has a hell of a run defense. Having said that, I think that if AP gets 25-30 carries, there is very little chance he won’t get 100 yards.
Damn. This makes the NFC north anybodys game doesn’t it? (Well, except maybe not the Bears). Pack at 7-1, Lions right behind at 6-2, Vikings unleash their secret weapon.
Should make for some really good division games.
