I have been corresponding with JWPLAYER on support@jwplayer.com. They don’t give a damn. Some characters there, Brian (the manager) and Ethan, seem to think their intrusive pop up player somehow humerous and is my fault!! Their player has infected EVERY move to a new URL I make - I spend half my time getting rid of these idiots. My solicitor is on the case right now to get these twats out of business.
In the meantime, one of my attacks is to uninstall FLASH, then reinstall.

It would be so much easier if JWPLAYER acknowledged this problem is their responsibility, and offered the minimal technical support to remove their problem. Their immature and pathetic smirking needs to be sorted out. Twats
Um, I’m confused. What does this have to do with the Straight Dope? Are you saying that you picked this up at the Straight Dope website? Has anyone else been visited by this problem? When did it happen?

Do these reviled apparitions actually involve connecting to a jwplayer web site? If so, you can block that by adding a line to your hosts file:
127.0.0.1 xxx…jwplayer…com (or whatever)
Do it now.
It’s not their responsibility. It’s just a media player that any web site owner can download and install on their own web site. If you are experiencing a problem with JWPlayer with “every” URL, then the problem probably resides with your web browser, or your computer. You could easily be infected with malware that inserts something using JW Player.
