Ads you Like

Okay, we’ve had a bunch of threads about ads (mostly TV) that you hate. But admit it, there are some ads you like.

One series of ads currently running that I like are the Captial One credit cards. One member of a couple has been shopping, and a Ravaging Horde is thundering up behind them. The other member of the couple whips out their Capital One Card and stops the Ravaging Horde. The costumes on the RH are just too cool.

I actually like the ones for Jolly Rancher hard candy.
Lots of goofy graphics and colors and candy flying around, with feel-good music and little message.

Live savers was always good too, but I haven’t seen one lately.

My favorite (currently) is the one for the “smirnoff ice” some beer comercial, anyway, two goofy redneck guys camping in the woods. After returnning from a fishing escaped they find a big bear rummaging through their camping gear. When the bear comes across the beer the two rednecks offensively smack the bear with the fishing poles. Real Brite. So the bear stands on his back legs when one of the guys grabes a bottle of honey and squirts on his friend that is standing beside him. The next shot in this commercial is two girls and the redneck, who pulled the honey manuever on his friend. Well anyway redneck and two girls one of the girls say “didn’t you have a friend” the redneck says “yes”. And if you look way out beside the lake in this commercial you can see the other redneck a top of this tree with the bear at the bottom trying to push the tree over.

I think the promo series has “Life with Animals” or something like that as a tagline - there are at least three.
My favorite opens with a guy watching his hotdog cook. He puts it in a bun and takes a bite, on which he begins to choke. His dog, laying on the bed of his one-room apartment, jumps to attention. The guy really begins to choke now, and a bighorn ram runs from across the room and butts him in the stomach. The bite of his hotdog flies out of his mouth and across the room, and the dogs catches it mid-flight and eats it. We switch to the tagline, then go back to the dog, again laying down. We hear the guy again begin to choke, and the dog again leaps to attention. Fade out.

Apparently this happens quite regularly.

Oh, well. I like it.
