Advanced voice mode on ChatGPT is amazing!

I have been waiting impatiently for this ever since the announcement months ago and just 15 minutes ago it finally came !

I haven’t done anything special just conducted a bunch of regular conversations but it’s remarkable how natural and smooth they are, it’s a huge leap forward over the earlier voice interaction which wasn’t actually that bad.

This technology is going to be so important for practically everything from interactive entertainment to education and just basic interaction with our devices and our world. It’s going to be everywhere in a few years.

It just seems that the last couple of years, every few months there is a new announcement from ChatGPT and its competitors demonstrating some new amazing technology. The pace of progress is exhilarating and a bit scary too.

Is this only available on Android or also on computer/PC as well?

I am using it only on my Android phone. Not sure about PC where I just connect through the web.

Also you need a ChatGPT Plus subscription to use it and it is being rolled out in stages so you may not get it just yet even if you subscribe.

I just tried it. “Can you buy a Harrier Jet with Pepsi points?” It gave a sufficiently accurate answer.

On the main app they have opened up the video option under the advanced voice mode so ChatGPT will be able to look at anything you point at and discuss it. The other day when I was on a walk I noticed a new piece of public art I had not seen before so I fired up the video option and ChatGPT was able to give me some background information and also discuss similar public art around the world. Quite an interesting experience and one step closer to the science fiction scenario of carrying out natural conversations with AI.
