adverts that turned out creepy

Take this Irish Telecom “Santa Claus” ad from 1995.

I think they were trying for “Daw, it’s adorable that the cutie pie calls Santa on her toy telephone!” but looked at in hindsight, it’s creepy that a strange old man can talk to a child, of any gender, through their toy phone.

“Santa, we’ve traced the call… it’s coming from inside the house!”

There’s this old commercial for Folger’s coffee that people seem to think has a brother-sister incest vibe to it.

Here’s a fine parody of it.

I saw a Quizno’s sandwich shop ad in which the oven that toasts the sandwiches was talking to a guy with a sandwich. “C’mon, put it in me, you know you want to!” how they got away with that one I don’t know.

Was the oven’s voice male or female?

The Skittles-pox ad just creeps me out

Dr.Peppers lil’Sweet, kinda creeps me out.

Be thankful Skittles-pox isn’t a venereal disease.
“Taste The Rainbow”

Yes, this one, this is the one I was going to mention. Really??? Picking colorful, candy zits off of each others’ faces and eating them?!? That’s not funny, that’s just wrong…

This one for Halo Top ice cream: Halo Top - Eat the Ice Cream - YouTube

This goes a bit beyond creepy.
Some of you might be a tad disturbed.

Oh the Skittles Pox one…especially when you see her pull it off, and it sticks!

How about the Rejuvenique Electric Facial Mask?

If you’re going to talk sandwiches, the worst by far is Subway’s ill-conceived and unfortunately named “Tour de Pants” campaign where they sent Jared Fogle around to promote healthy diets and Subway subs. It turned out he was using it as opportunity to find kids to molest.

We shouldn’t forgot Jim Parsons’ early commercial work for Quizno’s Jim Parsons Both Quiznos Commercials "Raised By Wolves" Day Time "PG" and Night Time "R" Versions - YouTube

W T F???

Double WTF for that horror.

This commercial for Dove chocolate always startles me a bit. The lady in her senior years is very pretty until the second scene when she bites into the chocolate. Then she reminds me of the scene with Jack Nicholson and the lady in room 217. I mean no disrespect to the actress or to demean seniors in general. Something about the way it’s filmed and I guess how her wrinkles suddenly show up when she smiles (?) reminds me of bad CGI.

Come on. A kid talking to someone on a toy telephone isn’t exactly something out of The Twilight Zone

Oh, wait…

Those SNL writers are really great at making parodies!

(It’s real?!)

I keep seeing this Covergirl commercial. It’s not the vitiligo that bothers me, it’s the lipstick color.

The talking wound in the New skin commercial creeps me out.

How is that any creepier than “He sees you when you’re sleeping”?
