Way to go, G O. Your touching story of the proposal inevitably reminded me of the night I proposed to my wife, and the circumstances were eerily similar. It wasn’t my wife’s birthday, but other than that, very similar.

My husband proposed to me on my birthday. We went to Renfest and got rained on half the day, drank a bunch of beer, and had a fabulous time. Then we went to dinner, and out for drinks after that.
He surprised the hell out of me with a ring box, and it was a perfect moment. In a series of perfect moments that make up our marriage.
I wish you both much happiness! (And we went to Vegas and got married in a cheapo chapel. Heaven!)
We got most of our vendors and sites together ourselves, but in the end, we hired a wedding planner to coordinate the actual activity of the day. I strongly recommend it, and I know a good local one.
