Somebody (a moderator ?) has accessed my Profile and broke the link in my signature…
I have a text file where I keep all the signatures I use on all forums…
I copy-pasted from that file directly to my profile on SDMB…
Many users complained about the link in my signature not working… Some kind friend (SDMB’er) drew it to my attention that the link is broken…and there is a typo …
I checked and was surprised…
the link is (link removed)
some modo sabotaged this in a VERY ruise way and made it
(link removed) thus deleting the A of About
Whom should I complain to ???
Should I follow this and get it up to the highest admin of this forum, or would I get a promise I will be dealt with less racism and closed-mindedness???
What TRUTH revealed by this forum (link removed) bothers this modo who edited my profile ???
Why am I being dealt with in this very unfriendly way ???
Are Muslims not welcome to SDMB ???
Is my color or religion the criteria upon which I am being pre-judged over at SDMB ???
Who is the UNcourageous moderator who sneaked behind the curtain and killed my link ???
I would assume, rather, that your too-large .sig was edited to an acceptable length by a moderator, and that a typo was made. However, considering your unrelenting blatant promotion of your other message board here, I think I’d be tempted to break the link. (Just a hint, other people with message boards usually leave the link just in their profile and “www” option, and don’t flog it in every freaking thread they post in.)
If they really wanted to stop you, they would simply say “don’t post that link here”.
As for the issue of your religion/color (whatever the fuck THAT has to do with anything is someone else’s guess), there are several muslim and/or non-white members of this board. A cursory search of IMHO or GD would reveal that.
And a final note … the mods could change your sig to “I like pie” if they felt like it. I rather doubt they purposefully changed the link in your sig to wreck the link.
Lynn (the admin) changed your sig. line after she requested you to change it. It suggests that you did not change it adequately.
If it got broken, then it was accidental and not deliberate.
The pit is the place to bitch, but considering it was Lynn who probably made the change, there isn’t any higher you can go.
The point she made that was your sig was way too long and all of the links pointed back to the same website albeit different forums.
You may wish to consider respecting the door you barged through and tone it down a bit, especially with your new sig. it’s not likely to be in favour with a lot of people who respect the Mods and Admins.
TalkAboutIslam your striking me as a little paranoid.
From what I gather you were asked to change your sig, you didn’t, so a mod stepped in and did it for you. Is that right?
Presuming that you are being singled out because of your religion/race is simply wrong. Your sig was the issue. As far as I can tell it was too large (or something along those lines)and you were asked to change it. There was nothing about race or religion.
Your color? This is the Internet, Bro, no one here knows (or particularly cares) what color your skin is. I have known Muslims with dark skin, light skin and every shade in between. Also, there are a number of Muslim posters around here who have done an admirable job of educating those of us interested about Islam. You could learn a lot from them.
You’re new here. Hang out and read a bit before you make accusations that will make you feel silly later. You may have noticed, for instance, that no one has long and/or large, brightly colored sigs on any topic except, of course, for you. You’ll find that this is one of the most tolerant message boards in cyberspace. Trust me, no one here is out to get you.
This just makes me sad. There is so much that we could all learn about each other.
TalkAboutIslam, no, it does not matter what your religion is or what color skin you live in or what car you drive or which foot you put your sock on first.
If you look at the location for many posters of this board you will see that we come from all over the world, all have different likes and dislikes and yet somehow we find a common ground, in that most of us can respect another person’s opinion without becoming defensive and accusatory.
This board can be a place of opening your mind and learning about other ways, if you would just give it a chance.
You seem to be on thin ice anyway, what with coming on this board (evidently) specifically to promote another board. This is very close to spam.
(I read your first 5 or 10 posts, then stopped; by that time, you were still in advertising mode. If you’ve since posted on other topics besides your own messageboard, I’m sorry.)
