I wonder if some of them aren’t even from a prom-the one girl in the black and white sparkly thing with the head band looks like she’s going to a Halloween Party. If that’s a costume, it looks freaking cool. But not for a prom.
And Pasty Girl’s dress looks weird at the waist-I still say it’s Photo-Shopped.
That’s what I was thinking. Now that we know these are photos from different times and places and that at least some have been digitally edited, there’s no reason to believe any of them are from a prom at all. A couple say they’re from a prom in the corner, but anyone could add that in with Photoshop.
These pictures could come from Halloween parties, sports themed parties, or whatever. My college had an annual “Tacky Party” the night before our big formal dance, and I’m sure photos from that event presented as prom pictures would be pretty shocking.
So what we have here is a collection of photos of African-American teens, some digitally edited and some perhaps just showing kids in funny costumes, being presented as ordinary prom photos. The OP apparently didn’t know better, but someone started this thing and I’m not seeing any possible motive other than an attempt to degrade African-American youth. Charming.
Pasties are normally reserved for strippers and the like. They are a material of some type stuck over the nipple so that the breast is exposed but not the nipple.
