Okay, you’ve got to be joking with that one, right?
Right?

Oh, I didn’t mean to put you in a dark mood. Lighten up, Francis.
The only people who could help me are the mods, and they’ve already said they’re not interested. So here we are, me and my little … circle … of racist friends.
My post #144 seems to have been skipped in favor of juvenile sniping (not that there’s anything wrong with juvenile sniping :)). Here it is again:
The fact that “nappy” is derogatory is the problem – we shouldn’t be using derogatory words that denigrate the natural features of a huge group of people. “Nappy” denigrates natural black hair (and probably some small number of non-black people’s hair, but it’s mostly about afro-textured hair). Just like “darkie” denigrates dark skin, “nappy” denigrates black hair. It’s not the end of the world, but I don’t think we should use terms with such an ugly history.
A little from column A, a little from column B.
But ask yourself, how often does mags use “golly” as an expression? Just co-inky-dink that the last time was … during a discussion about the “tarbaby” dogwhistle by F-P ?
I’m sure he got a k-k-kick out of that one.
I don’t think magellan is capable of that degree of subtlety. Right?

Don’t you mean we shouldn’t be using derogatory words that de-African American-ate the natural features of a huge group of people?
Now you’re talking!

Shodan
Like a dream come true for you, no doubt.
??? No idea.
EDIT: I get it. Denigrate.
Shodan’s mad he doesn’t get to say nigger without being blackballed…
…although he might be into that, if his eagerness to be called Massah is anything to go by.
Kinda ironic that a thread about a punch has turned into a sissy slap fight.
Homophobe.
Afroman body slams fan off the stage.
I completely take back my comments above. This guy is violent and dangerous.
African-American-balled, ya racist.
Regards,
Shodan
I think Shodan is trying to make some sort of joke about accusations of racism, but I can’t figure out what it is.
It’s a comment on the absurdity of the “dog-whistle” claim.
You pure dumb fuck. “Golly” and “Golly Gee Wilikers” are used to feign pie-eyed amazement. It was a popular phrase on shows like Mayberry RFD, Leave it to Beaver, Dennis the Menace, Gomer Pyle, etc.—super-wholesome shows. It has not even a tinge of racism as people used it. Today it it used with more than a hint of sarcasm, communicating that the person on the other end of it is profoundly and impressively dumb and/or fucked in the head. It still has no racism attached to it, as Miller tried to hint to you.
Except in your diseased, look-out-there-are-racists-evrerywhere, mind. Perhaps someone from the states here who you might listen to will explain that to your dumb ass.
Ha!
And the juvenile sniping continues… I guess it’s a lot easier than to actually think about words, their meanings, their history, and how people might understand them.
That needs to apply to both sides though, and people need to not automatically assume that, just because there’s a possible offensive or racist though behind word choice, that it’s necessarily the case.
If I say something in ignorance that’s genuinely offensive, and someone points it out to me, I’ll humbly apologise. If I say something that clearly isn’t offensive unless it’s twisted around, and someone chooses to take offence at that, fuck 'em.
What point are you trying to make that hasn’t been addressed. “Nappy” is derogatory, as has already been pointed out. It’s a way to describe hair, like a bad afro. We have the douchebag Afroman knocking down a woman, I said throw his nappy ass in jail, intending to be derogatory toward him and his hair. What the fuck is so hard to understand about that?
