after decades, I have the perfect litter box solution

I’ve tried a number of boxes/litter over the years. I tried a couple of the self-cleaning ones but they always got clogged. The best I had found until now was the Omega Paw rollover box, but even with that sometimes the clumps were so large they would not fall easily into the tray, and sometimes the urine mud would stick to the side of the box

Aobut 6 months ago I discovered Fresh Step Crystals. All you have to do is scoop the poop, the urine gets absorbed into the crystals and there is no smell. Half a bag lasts 2 weeks with one cat.

Until last week I was using a standard open box, then I bought this one. It has a clear plastic door which keeps litter from being kicked out when Mickey scratches, and the mats on the floor get the rest. All I have to do once a day is scoop into the toilet, and dump the few crystals on the mat back into the box. Twice a month, I pull the drawstrings on the litter box liner up and take to the trash.

I like the fresh step crystals as well. I’m not keen on scooping. If the litter smells it smells. No scooping is gonna help.
I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes. My male poops in the actual toilet. So, only one pooping in the litter.(she sometimes uses the toilet too) I change the litter, on average, about once a week.

You can’t tell by smell I even have cats.

My grandsons make worse smells than the cats.

Pretty Litter is the way to go.

No scent but somehow controls the odor. Last a month, at least. Delivered to my door. I’ve been using it for a year or so. It’s similar to the crystals you mention, you just scoop the feces out and flush and just stir the rest so the urine can evaporate. Perfect my me and my cat. Costs about $20 a month.

I’ve had the pretty litter recommended, maybe will try. It does sound gimmicky to me, also not excited about the subscription revolution.

Does the fresh step come in an unscented version?

I wouldn’t go as far as recommending a specific brand, but crystal cat litter really does help keep the smell down a hell of a lot, and my old cat was happy to use it. My current cat has, bizarrely, decided to self-quarantine, so we’ve just bought a litter tray - hope she’ll be the same.

I don’t know, the bag I have doesn’t say scented or unscented, but it has no smell. It is usually not to be found in the grocery stores or even pet stores, I order on Amazon
