Again with the annoying commercials!

It’s a KIA ad.

We’re being inundated with ads from 72Sold, a real estate hawker who guarantees the best price for your house within a few days. It’s apparently a legit company out of Arizona (which is a non-starter for me), but it’s the spokesclown that is really annoying, waving his arms around like some sort of deranged muppet.

When you think that guy couldn’t look creepier, they change camera angles so you can get a fresh look.

There’s a Muppet who’s not deranged?

You’re lucky. I get daily calls from assclowns wanting to buy my house. These guys might be one, but I hang up as soon as I can.

Well, there’s Keith Morrison from Dateline, who is a walking advertisement for sun screen lotion. He really does look like a human sock puppet.

Surely Guy Smiley was modeled after him.

Fun fact / hijack: Keith Morrison is the stepfather of Matthew “Chandler Bing” Perry.

Yes, the stupid bell sound and they sprint off like Pavlov’s dog. They just found the ONE person in the world that shares their particular niche interest, but no, that takes a back seat to Taco Bull[shit].

Yep.Two new ones. The new iPhone, with the only thing mentions is that it is YELLOW!!!. Not how it works, does it take good pictures, nothing. just yellow.

Then there is the new Chinese take out ad where the big selling point is that it steams up your glasses.

There’s a Wagoneer commercial running now that actually has a cute premise…the people are headed into the wilderness to go on a bear hunt, but it’s revealed that the “bear” is really Bear, their dog. Awww.

But the commercial is accompanied by a call-and-response song performed by an increasingly unhinged adult and shrieking, chanting children. Creepy! Did they lose the original song rights at the last minute or something?

Just saw this animated stop-motion ad for Oscar Mayer. There’s a sandwich on an old-school record player turntable, and the stylus is a tiny mustard bottle distributing the mustard in a spiral onto the sandwich. Very fun concept and cute execution of the idea.

Except - the mustard “plays” from the inside out. Was this made by someone who’s never played a record? Ruins the whole thing.

The mustard is the backward track that’s so controversial.

Odds are that the makers figured–quite correctly–that the vast majority of viewers would have NO idea how a record turntable works/worked.

(Particularly if the ad is viewed mostly online.)

Have y’all seen the whiskey glass on the turntable ad? Pisses me right off - getting sticky bourbon all over the vinyl record. I can’t find it on Youtube.

Saw John Oliver do a throwaway slag at the Kars 4 Kidz ad on his most recent show (4/2/2023) and it did my heart good.

So teenage girl has a mustache forming. She doesn’t know what to do. Then she notices Eddie Murphy in “Coming To America” and a bobblehead of Freddie Mercury. Quick overnight shipment and she dances her way in to class wearing a Freddie Mercury style yellow jacket. Um, okay. I don’t get it.

I’m with you on that one. Totally baffled. You can buy things on Amazon.
